Pear Shaped Paraiba Tourmaline & Diamond Ring 14K, 0.35 ct is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from BUY IT! That is no lie that there are no more Paraiba's, at least that they know of at this point. The reason this is an investment stone is not because of its expense, but simply because it is coveted by people who know its rarity. And their beauty is UNSURPASSED by any stone! My jeweler goes to all the shows in Las Vegas and other jewelry shows, and he said there were absolutely no Paraiba's worth having, available. What he has been able to find are very tiny and are not color saturated nor perfect in color, having a brownish tint or muddy tint. As a birthday present two years ago, I received a 4 carat marvelous, Caribbean ocean colored Paraiba ring. The key is to make sure it GLOWS! Yes, the good ones look like they have an LED light from within the stone! As this birthday present, we have consigned a new design for the Paraiba in platinum and yellow gold and over two carats in surrounding diamonds. I will not give the price paid by my husband for the original ring, but will tell you that its increased insurance rate has more than doubled in that two year time frame. And the increase in value will continue, obviously. With QVC's return policy, you have nothing to lose, really. If it GLOWS and is color saturated throughout, you have a keeper!
