A217196 - Papillio Meadow Design Clogs
Papillio Meadow Design Clogs
Bought these clogs for work wear as on my feet for long hours and other shoes leave my back and ankles sore. Wore the other day for the first time - no break in required, and as expected, no sore back or ankles! Suspect these may become my favorite go to's for jeans as they remind me of tooled cowboy boots and they simply pop with denim. Love my birkies!
very unsatisfactory for the high price
I am returning these. I have never had on such a stiff shoe or sandal. The material is hard, and the sole even harder. no flexibility.
ALL-AROUND PAPILLIO PERFECTION…
…I was graced with a gift over the holidays with my first Papillio clogs, representative of perfection in fit, happy print, the floral mod-design spread over black, and oh so comfortable! I have put away my open toe clogs, and wear Papillio all-day (and alternate with Clark’s slippers), more coverage from Papillio closed toes for cooler weather. Durability, comfort, with a small-size three-quarter inch-H textured outsole and I don’t have to worry about turning my ankle when walking, ascending or descending stairs. The molded insole hugs my feet gently, while the leather foot bed liner and Birko-Flor™ upper shouts quality. My gift-giver knew my foot size and wisely took the recommendation of sizing up from a 6 ½ to a 7. A perfect fit, and I am steered to future purchases of Papillio products.
Comfy and sorta Crazy
I love Birkenstocks, but all I had were the sandal type and with cold weather I needed more coverage. These clogs are perfect for being on my feet alot and the design is happy, colorful, and fun! So glad I ordered them. I probably wouldn't suggest these for a gift as some people may not like the print so much.
LOTS of Flowers
I wear Birkenstocks all the time. Mostly, I wear solid color clogs and save the patterns for the sandals. This pair of clogs reminded me why I wear solid colors in clogs. Although they were actually quite pretty, they were very "busy" with lots of flowers. At times, I'd look at my foot, and like them, and at other times, I felt like I was wearing a wallpaper pattern. I sent them back, but with great regret, because they were comfortable, and the blue was a true navy blue! That's hard to find in a Birkenstock. I really wanted a navy blue clog. I think this shoe is best with bluejeans (if you decide to get the blue). I also think this pattern would be gorgeous in the sandal version (which they make) but not in a clog. It's a bit busy in the clog. If you are a Birkenstock wearer that likes all of the "loud" patterns, you will probably love this shoe, because it is really made well--has a nice texture to it and is very detailed--very detailed. Too much for me.
The new RN trend in Surgical Services
I ONLY wear the Birkenstock line of shoes. Always! Even with my beautiful evening wear in their strappy, patent leather styles! Being an RN for 30 years and having inherited very a bad foot disorder from my father has put my feet in need of quality, supportive shoes (no sneakers for me). I have a WW/2E wide toebox with bunions and a narrow heel. Typically I wear a Birkenstock 39 (size 9) Regular (open, lined footprint symbol stamped on the insole as opposed to the solid colored-in footprint on the insole, which is Birkenstock NARROW, but the typical size of MEDIUM for most shoes in our markets). The Regular size fits a wider foot PERFECTLY in all their lines but Tatami (smaller length, more narrow than others in their line) and Footprints (styled like a regular tie shoe, loafer or mary jane). In Tatami or Footprints, I wear a 40 Regular, but they can be fairly snug and a little painful, esp at first and hard to find. In the American market, it's a little difficult to find most Birkenstocks in Regular width. I find them on eBay, but sometimes the styles can be limited. I've ordered from Germany, too, but the shipping can take 3 months and you know we have trouble waiting for our orders, don't we?
Having said all this, the Papillio design is JUST wide enough to be comfortable for me, even on the job! I wore them the first day with thinner socks and they were perfect. In fact, they seemed to support my heel more. That was one of my 10 hour days. Later the first week of wear, I was able to wear a more cushy cotton sock and they were still perfectly comfortable after a 12 hour day. I am scheduled for 8hrs 5 days/week, but always work hours over. Birkenstock shoes hold up on the job for me AT LEAST 5 years, then they are perfect for our farm. I have them in several colors and designs. I chose the blue in this style to go with my ceil blue scrubs and they are adorable! All the surgical staff are permitted to wear the new trendy colors and styles as long as the toe is solid. I've always worn white (old-school) and showing up with these surprised everyone! The Birko-flor material is SO easy to clean and holds up just as long as their leather models. I don't like synthetic shoes AT ALL due to the burning of my feet and the weakness of the material for the long haul on the job, but the Birkenstock synthetic is amazingly comfortable and durable. I've had a pair of their Birki birko-flor sandles for over 10 years and wear them for long walks in summer. They wipe clean and still look good as new.
Thank The Good Lord for Birkenstocks and QVC for having them! I wish they'd carry more in the open footprint, Regular width, tho. I marked that I purchased MEDIUM because this size is what typically is as medium, but they are actually the Birkenstock NARROW since they run a little wider than most shoes. When I've found them other places, the price was about the same or slightly lower, but who can beat QVC for their solid sales and shipping practices?
Adorable & Comfortable!
Each time I wear these I get compliments and questions about where I got them. They are completely comfortable, like all Papillio's I've tried. I've worn them 10-12 hours at a time and they feel as comfortable at the end of 12 hours as they did when I put them on. I bought the black colored ones and they go great with a pair of dark jeans. The pattern has so many colors in it, that they go great with almost anything. My new favorite shoes!
