Should have done this a while back
For years I never had to go on a diet but then I had surgery and found that my hormones changed and everything was going south. The weight was coming on and I went from being skinny (sizes 7/8-9/10) up to size 14. My mom said she would pay for it but I wasn't ready yet, she passed last year and so I made a promise to myself I would try it. I'm starting into my 2nd month and have lost almost 10 lbs. I'm wearing a size 12 now. I still have a ways to go, my goal is to lose 30 lbs. There are some foods that I didn't like but I have to say the majority of it, is great. I love the Italian food, and the chicken noodle soup, so good. I'm never hungry and I found that when I'm eating the deserts my dog wants some it also (haha).

The program does work
I know some people are not fans of Nutrisystem, but for me the program has really helped. I tend to lose weight slowly, so 1-2 pounds per week is what is happening for me. I don't have a lot to lose, so I'm ok with it. The food is good! I especially like the new frozen meals, they are excellent! The longer I stick with it I have become more disciplined and careful about what I eat.

NOT SO GOOD
THE FOOD FOR THE MOST PART IS NOT EDIBLE...I AM DISAPPOINTED IN THE PROGRAM AND THEY SEND YOU FOOD OTHER THEN WHAT YOU REQUEST...IT WORKS IF YOU CAN TOLERATE THE TASTE...IT IS THE TOMATO PRODUCTS I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ///...CHEF-BOY-R-DEE WOULD BE A BETTER CHOICE AND WE ALL KNOW WHAT THAT TASTES LIKE...MOST OF THE OTHER THINGS SNAX AND BREAKFASTS ARE GOOD..BUT THE FOOD...I CANNOT TOLERATE...SORRY!!!

Awful food, disappointing
I was very disappointed in Nutrisystem and will never order again. Most of it seemed like stuff I could by from Chef Boyardee. The only positive thing I can say is that the snacks were pretty good. Other than that, I am still trying to choke down the rest of what I have left and it isn't really motivating me to stay on the diet consistently. Very unsatisfying...

Failed Diet
I never dieted in my life so I have always been chubsy wubsy. I needed...I was desperate for help when I reached 140lbs.at 5'2". I couldn't figure out how to lose weight while maintaining my old lifestyle. I purchased this Nutrisystem. Other than the pizza, I couldn't eat all the other foods. I love soups but most of them were too thick and taste fake. The pastas were mushy and the burger was like memory foam. I completely failed this diet because after 3 days, I ran out of the pizza and I couldn't eat the rest of the foods. I'm so disappointed! There's enough food but eeck! Sorry:(

Only good for teaching proper portions
I have been using this for two weeks and lost 6lbs which is great but I can no longer handle the food and will not be ordering this again. It taste like chef boy r dee. If you like chef boy r dee than this is great. The breakfast foods are fine, the dry lunch food is horrible and the dinners all taste the same. You need to add cheese to make anything taste palatable. ( a small amount) You can learn plenty in two weeks but if you really care about what you are eating and prefer to eat healthier then dont touch this stuff. It is full of preservatives. Learn to make some great salads and walking will do the exact same thing and it is what i am doing now and I am still losing weight and you don't have to eat like your living in a camper.

The "Feel Good Diet"
For all of us that have tried to lose weight, I honestly must say this is the best diet ever with no counting calories. In my own personal opinion I feel so much better on this diet than any other. I have more energy and look forward to the variety of meals. I even have challenges in eating all the food recommended. I have not lost much in pounds but have lost 2 sizes to date. I will continue with Nutri-System until I have achieved my goal and will continue to order Nutri-System for the occasional "keep on track method" in the future. Defintely this diet is a win-win situation!

Now that I am on Nutrisytem I am finally losing weight!!!! It really teaches portion control and the RIGHT foods to eat.
Now with nutrisytem I feel satisfied even though I am eating less calories...Thier food is FILLED with lots of protein and fiber which keeps you full!...the food is actually good..and it is easy to follow. I just started last week and I have lost 4 pounds... Try it you wont regret it!!

Finally, something that works!
I am an individual who has a long history of binge eating. Finally: something that works! It is ideal that food is packaged by Nutrisystem in individual portions.
Everything is marked: breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert. I don't have to stress about what to eat. The calories, the fiber, the nutrients: they are all there, figured out already. I trust Nutrisystem. And you know what? It IS working! My cravings have subsided, and I think that is because everything is delicious. And once you get used to reasonable portion size, you so look forward to having a Nutrisystem meal. It meets your hunger and is so satisfying. I feel wonderful on this regime.
I am so grateful that it is out there, to help people like me, who can't deal with multi-portions being in the house. Just as an example, I had the chocolate graham bar for lunch yesterday. Wow! Delicious. I added a vegetable, and it was so satisfying.
I am delighted with QVC and I am delighted with Nutrisystem.

Not bad
I've tried the food; didn't love all the food, but I did shed a few pounds. Honestly, I could have done more exercise to loose a few more....I can't blame the product.
For me, I had a higher problem with the sodium content of the lunches and dinners. I'm a good cook and so is my husband. I missed our food the most.
What Nutrisystem taught me is how to control the portions of the food I'm putting in my mouth. That is really the key to a successful weight loss. They are providing the tools for you to do that. I'm off the program, but I do miss the breakfasts and some of the lunches. (Fettuccini alfredo was my favorite and the ministroni soup wasn't bad either. I did love the lunch bars)
Portion control, eat lots of small lower calorie snacks(fruits/cheese/yogurt) helps speed up the metabolism and keeps you satisfied. Overall I think it can help you to learn to make better food choices.

Better than I expected...
After reading other reviews I was afraid to try nutrisystem, but I took a chance and am glad I did. A couple of the food items I didn't care for, but I just made a reasonable substitution. It seems to me maybe some of the other reviewers had unrealistic expectations. Yes, you do have to buy a few things at the store and do some minimal preparation. It's nothing compared to other programs I've been on. There's no other way to get fresh fruit. As far as cost, I end up spending about the same. I spent $20 at the grocery in addition to the nutrisystem purchase while doing the 2 week program. Overall, it's a simple program. I've lost 5 pounds in one week, with only about 15 to lose total. It's worth a shot.

It Can Work
I actually lost my initial 20 lbs on the original "Nourish" program. If you think this Advanced program has food that is pretty awful you would have thought That Program was "prison " quality. However, and it is a big however, I never felt hungry nor did I have cravings for certain foods that I could not find some form of, especially in the new "Advanced" program. I have to agree whole-heartedly with the reviewer who said that the lunches were the worst. I really found that even I couldn't eat most of them and still IF I didn't eat their entree for lunch but ate the other foods that I was suppossed to eat for that meal (as per the meal planner book ) that I really wasn't hungry for dinner any earlier than I would normally be if I were not on Nutri-Systems.
The reason why I am no longer on Nutri-Systems is that the Program is really too expensive despite QVC's discounts. If you really WERE purchasing ALL the food that you would be eating over the course of that month or that 6 week period then it would be very reasonable and I would likely have stayed with it BUT for every meal and even snacktime you need to add something of your own that requires you to go to the grocery store. This makes the program, especially with the weekends off much more expensive than you realize at first for 2 reasons:
1. fresh fruit, salads, and dairy items are THE most expensive items in the store including meats and fish per pound.
2.Perhaps I am the only one but... sending a person who is trying to lose more than a few vanity pounds into the grocery store to smell and to see some of the most calorie filled items which are usually the items closest to the doors and expect them to ignore these on a continual basis can be expensive both psychologically and financially.
Now NO program can provide fresh fruits and veggies and EVERY weight loss program I know of requires that you eat SOME vegetables and/or salad but I found Nutri-Systems requires that you have both every single day. I just found that i couldn't afford it and still feed my family.
Good Luck though to all out there who are trying any way they can to lose weight..
