The food does not taste as good as described... I have watched so many presentations of the Nutrisystem product line on QVC, and I waited to purchase a 28 day supply, after hearing about how good the food tastes. Well, it is simply not true for most of the meals. They do not taste good. And if the food tastes awful, you cannot be successful on a program. I look forward to the fruits and vegetables you need to add to the program, rather than the meals themselves. Also, since you are unable to choose which meals you want, the box is filled with too many meal bars. At this price, I don't want to be given little meal bars for breakast and lunch. On the other hand, at least the bars are edible, which is more than I can say for the "pizza" or "pasta" which is truly horrible. I didn't return this, but will not ever do this again. I would recommend Jenny Craig if you need a portion control program where you buy the food. That's where I'm headed next.... 08-07-11
YUK Don't waste your money It tastes/looks/smells like dog food. I am so disapointed that they think that people would even consider eating this. Fresh Fruit, salads and fresh food is the way to go. Exercise and drink lots of water. Would rather be 10 lbs overweight than eat this! Sent it all back-thankfully got my refund. 07-16-11
some food was bad others good This is my first time with Nutrisystem. I have a lot of weight to lose, 50 lbs. But, I knew I would need to learn portion control as well as healthier eating habits. So, that's what I'm getting with this system. I like that when I get hungry, I go to the packaged food and dig thru it, and eat something good for me, instead of eating something that would be too sugary or fat ladened. Sweets are my downfall. Some of the dinners are just plain nasty and I couldnt eat them, others actually tasted just fine. The soups are fine as well, and the breakfast and snack bars are super tasty. I take them to work with me to eat when I get hungry and would normally have a candybar. I'm switching to the A-D 28 day auto plan, since I've lost weight on the 28 day summer challenge plan. So, yes it works, no it's not fun, but, I'm learning how to eat less and what is an actual "portion" that one can lose weight on. I am watching what I eat, paying attention to when I overeat and why I do, (usually evenings, for me.) So, it's working for me. I'm taking it slow and planning on being sensible. I want to change how I eat, not just lose weight. I didnt put on this weight overnight and I dont plan on losing it overnight either. I gave it 4 stars because some of the meals were uneatable, due to nasty cardboard-taste. No amount of spices or pepper and such helped. Nutrisystem needs to work on the taste of some of the dinners, since at the end of the work day it was hard to sit down and try to eat some of their dinners. I keep some frozen Lean Cuisine's in the freezer for such times. Hopefully the 28 day regular plan I'm going to will have better tasting supper meals.~ 07-15-11
I'm Still NOT Sure I have used this program for 3 weeks and have lost 10lbs. I would say the food is so so. It seems like there isn't enough protein. Sometimes I feel hungry and the choices of food aren't that great. But will probably keep using it since I've lost weight. I'm not sure about this program but as long as I lose weight I will buy it. 07-15-11
Regrettably...did not work for me. I tried to stick to the plan...added fruit and vegetables, drank more water than usual, etc, but I still had a sense of deprivation. I was not necessarily hungry - just not satisfied. I did not track my weight. For me, the way clothes fit is a better way of tracking weight loss. There were no significant changes. The presentation used the way your pants fit at the end of 28 days as way to recognize changes. I was more hopeful that I would see changes in my abdomen and waist. I did not. I'm sure if I could tolerate the food for a greater amount of time - the possibility exists that I would see changes. I just don't think I could stick with it. I did learn more about portion control. Hopefully, I can continue on my own. Good luck to those who continue with Nutrisystem. 07-09-11
Don't waste your time or money The food is gross. Most of it looks like dog food when prepared. Some items are eatable but nothing that satisfy's your hunger, because it tastes so bad you will find yourself craving normal food. Thats bad because then you cannot properly use this program. Don't waste your time or money. Try Jenny Craig, it's more expensive but the food is great. I am going back there myself. 07-06-11
Terrible food The quality of the food is terrible - I suspect any weight-loss is the result of customers not being able to eat the food at all. I am giving up after three weeks. 07-05-11
Tastes terrible I tried the system for about a week. Ended up throwing out some of the items I prepared. The lunches & dinners especially have an awful taste & the appearance is gross. The system certainly is not worth the amount charged. It's a waste of money,I sent it back. 06-30-11
Disgusting IF you happen to have dead taste buds this may work, but otherwise don't waste your money. I tried Nutrisystem years ago and HATED it, but thought maybe the taste had improved over the years...WRONG! Do yourself a favor and take time to plan and prepare your own healthy meals if you value enjoyable and pleasant tasing food! 06-29-11
This is food? I'm so disappointed with this system. The food is not good and the system offers very little variety. Bread is almost obsolete and the dessert items are often not dessert, but crackers, cheese curls or one cookie. I know dieting is all about portion control, etc. but these portions are so tiny and leave me feeling very deprived. Again, the taste of most of the food is quite awful. I don't know how they can ruin cereal, but they did. I would not buy this product again. 06-24-11
Too much junk. I could do without all the bars. This meal plan seems to have a lot of fillers (ie the bars) just to take up space. I would rather have more food or cookies. I don't like the bars. 06-21-11
I love Nutrisystem! It took me years to try Nutrisystem and now that I have, I say, "What took me so long?" I have lost 30 pounds since February and it is now June. The food is wonderful. Since I live in California, and it is very hot now, some of the chocolate items were melted. I called the Nutrisystem company with the number QVC gave me, and they happily replaced the melted bars at no extra charge to me. Wow, what more can anyone ask??? I'll always have Nutrisystem in my pantry! Thank you, Nutrisystem and QVC for this wonderful product. 06-17-11
