About QVC Sheets

Thread count refers to the number of threads per square inch of fabric. Thread count alone does not ultimately determine softness, but it does predict the weight and airflow of the fabric. All QVC sheet sets offer a minimum thread count of 300, with select sets measuring in with a thread count as high as 1,000.

Fast Facts
A sheet with a high thread count may not yield a softer sheet. Softness comes from a combination of factors including the weave, type of cotton, treatments (such as an anti-wrinkle coating), and thread count. Depending on the manufacturing processes, sheets that contain a thread count of 300-400 can be as soft or softer than one with a thread count of 1,000.

Traditional Blend
The traditional blend utilizes cotton's natural ability to allow fabrics to breathe and wick away moisture. This blend mixes long and short fibers when twisting them into threads.

Egyptian Cotton
Widely considered to be one of the highest qualities of cotton available, Egyptian cotton is grown in Egypt and consists of fibers which are longer, resulting in a silkier thread.

Supima® Cotton
This is the name used to promote textile and apparel products made with 100% American Pima cotton, grown in the southwestern United States. The staple length of Supima is 35% longer than regular cottons. This increases softness and luster. And since fewer fiber ends are exposed, it minimizes the effects of abrasion, resulting in less pilling. The Supima trademark is a registered trademark of Supima Association of America.

The type of weave and construction used for sheets can vary from ornamental to something functional. Variations in weave and fiber used in sheet construction will affect the characteristics of the cloth. Some fibers and constructions will breathe more and other combinations can keep you warm and cozy.

Consists of a twill weave with threads layered over one another, exposing a longer thread on the fabric surface. Imparts a smooth, silky feel against the skin.

Made with a balanced and closely woven plain weave. The percale construction is both durable and smooth to the touch. Sheets made with 100% cotton percale feel smooth and crisp to the skin.

Pique sheets are designed to achieve a textured appearance with a soft touch. Its high and low texture is created during the knitting or weaving processes. Pique construction is made by spinning two yarns together to create a stronger yarn that's soft and supple.

Wrinkle Defense® Technology
The Wrinkle Defense process is designed to decrease the appearance of wrinkles for up to 50 wash cycles. It provides a durable, soft, and smooth sheet surface when the care instructions (included) are properly followed.

Flannel is a material that's woven and put through a brushing process that lifts the threads to create air pockets that impart a soft and fuzzy feel. When comparing flannel sheets, look for weight rather than thread count. A quality flannel material is in the 5-6 oz range.

Jersey Knit
Threads in a jersey knit material are knit around one another rather than woven. This construction gives the fabric some stretch (or "give") for a soft and comfortable feel. It feels like sleeping in your favorite T-shirt!

Polyester is often used in this sturdy and durable material with manmade threads. It's also easy to care for, has fewer wrinkles than comparable sheets, and looks great with prints and bright colors. Sheet sets with a higher weight are often brushed for a soft, suede-like feel.

This fabric is soft, comfortable, warm, dries quickly, and is durable for long-lasting good looks.

Jacquard refers to both a type of loom weave and the cloth produced by such looms. The jacquard process allows for intricate designs and textures to be woven into the material itself.

One of the oldest manufactured fibers dating back to the 1880s in France, rayon was originally developed as an alternate to silk and has a naturally smooth and soft texture. The material has strong moisture-wicking properties to help keep you cool and comfortable.

WARM SHEETS Used these sheets for first time last now - WOW! Light weight, but thick, and soooo warm with only the Down NN blanket & furnace at 67-degrees. I bought the rose color which is really a neon dark geranium pink (TOO bright)..while do not like the color I kept them anyhow because during the dark cold grey winter I figured some bright color might lift my spirits. Liked them so much that I am ordering the vanilla & the blue sets too. 11-07-12
So Happy with Purchase! I was really torn with which king flannel sheets to try from NN, since we have three other cotton NN sets (which we are very happy with). All the flannel sheet sets seemed to have "average" reviews which did not help my decision. I finally picked these because of the color (glacier - very blue, looked more green on my computer screen) and I couldn't be happier! Yes I have to empty the lint catcher after I dry the sheets, but there is no piling between washings while they are on the bed. Plenty of room in terms of fit on the mattress. Again, my hubby and I are very happy with this purchase and I will be purchasing a second set tonight. If you aren't sure which flannel set to choose, I would definitely purchase this one. Thanks NN! 10-19-12
Soft but messy I have an old set of NN flannel sheets that I love. Wanting a spare flannel set this winter I ordered these. The are soft enough but terribly pilly. I washed and filled up my dryer's lint trap before they even were on my bed and they still released a lot of flannel fibers all over my blankets, clothing, and carpet all around my bed. Booooo! I don't remember my older set doing that. They are comfortable, warm, and soft though. I hope that after repeated washings they aren't ruined and stop shedding. 01-15-12
Love these Sheets I love my new king size sheets. I bought them in the Glacier color which matches the bath. They washed up great and still fit the pillows and mattress. Very roomy, and so soft. 11-20-11
Wonderful for our Alaska Winter! Recieved our sheets yesterday, washed them up and put them on our bed. My husband is a hot sleeper.. and these were so perfect for both of us. Kept me warmer and didn't over heat my husband. This sheet set is the perfect answer to keep us warm in the Alaska winters! We love the feel of these. Thank you for making such a great product 10-19-11
Not Northern Nights Quality I just purchased this set in the King size. It is very thin similar to a 250 thread count cotton sheet set. I've purchased several flannel sets in the past and they were substanial in weight and wear. I had them for 5 years. I am a Northern Nights purchaser and always have been very satisfied with everything I've purchased from them, but NOT THIS SET. This set is not worth the price and a very low quality for Northern Nights. On a old school grade scale I would give this a ( D ) on using the old scale of A-F . Definately needs to be re-constructed by Northern Nights. NOT NORTHERN NIGHTS STANDARDS PRODUCT. 10-08-11
