Nice warm blanket
Got this to replace the down comforter in warmer weather. I'm very happy with the weight of the blanket -- not too heavy! Generously sized and very nice quilting. Just what I needed.

This blanket went south!
I purchased this Northern Nights Down Blanket so I could alternate it with my first N. Nights Down Blanket which I have had for years and just love. I put it on my bed on Thursday night and Friday experienced some allergy problems, which is not unusual in Maryland. It did have an odd smell about it so I thought I would just wash and dry it, which I did. I used the tennis ball method. When I opened the dryer door, discovered the problem. My blanked smelled like MILDEW!!! Yikes, discovered the source of my problems.!!Called Customer Service and told them that the blanket was coming back to them. Very disappointed. Thankfully, I did not throw away the packaging and receipt..

Love this blanket!
I had this in the green on my wish list and recieved it as a Christmas gift. I turn my thermostat way down at night and only use a top sheet and this blanket and stay so warm and toasty:)

Disappointed
I ordered a new Northern Nights Down Blanket in Blue, King Size. I have another Northern Nights blanket that I ordered about 5 years ago. The new blanket is much smaller in the King Size and the pattern is not continued on the reverse side as in the old one. The King size only hangs over each side no more than 1-1/2 inch, not like the older one that gave you sufficient coverage if you move around the edge of the bed during the night.
Before you buy, be sure to ask if they still are skimping on the material. Not satisfied with this purchase at all.

It's perfect
This is my 5th Northern Nights down blanket. I put it on the bed yesterday and it was just as wonderful as the others I have had over the years. Although I have a full size bed, I also have a Pedic Topper which has increased the overall height ~ hence, I bought a queen size blanket and it drapes perfectly. I do not understand the complaints of others about crinkling sounds or odors as I did not have these issues. Any blanket or comforter should be aired for a bit as it has been enclosed in plastic. I live in New England and we have had one very cold snowy winter ~ but snuggle down in flannel sheets with a down blanket and all is wonderful!!

BEAUTIFUL WITH A LUXE CRINKLE!!!
:;LOVE this down beauty = the high thread count gives it that delightful crinkle - which I also equate with high-end Sweiss hotels I've stayed in. The print is lovely and the blanket looks good on either side. It's cozy and light... a great purchase.

Not What I Expected
I took this out of the box, took one look and put it back into the box. I never even put it on the bed. I knew it was not going to meet my needs based on the look and feel.

bad deal
I have 5 northern nights blankets and adore them this one had loose strings everywhere. very poorly made. I am washing for the frist time and fully expect all the down to be in one corner when finished

Noisy
The blanket is ok. My husband doesn't care for it at all. He says it is noisy when he moves

Beautiful
I received the queen size in Lilac a week ago. This is the most beautiful, warm, and lightweight blanket I have ever had. I use it along with my Northern Nights white comforter. It's like sleeping with clouds!!!!

Great at first
Loved this when I first got it, for a couple years. But then after a while you end up with squares that have little to no down in them-mainly in the middle of the blanket where you need it the most. The squares around the edges still have plenty of down and fluff but the middle sections do not...what happened...I have washed it a few times on gentle and it washed great but I think washing it eventually diminishes the down. If you want to buy a new one every 3 or 4 years its great.
