Warmer than our old "alternative down" comforter!
My husband and I saw this blanket on a TV presentation last weekend and ordered it because of the fantastic clearance price. We recently went from a Queen bed to a new King bed, so we have been shopping around for a King-size comforter for awhile, but just couldn't justify spending $200+ on one. So we have been sleeping with our old Queen-size "alternative down" comforter until we found one on sale. Unfortunately, that size just doesn't cut it on a bigger bed and everytime one of us would turn over, the other one was cold in the night- no pun intended.
So we jumped at the chance to order this at the clearance price...before I read the mixed reviews. But I decided we would at least give it a chance because we knew we could always return it. It's been 3 nights now and we absolutely LOVE it! The best part (other than it's the right size for our bed) is that we find it to be WARMER than our old "alternative down" comforter - which is surprising for it being a lightweight BLANKET! At first we were skeptical that it would keep us warm in the night, but it proved us wrong. This leads to the second best part...we live in Florida so this is the perfect LIGHTWEIGHT down blanket for our weather! It keeps us warm, but not hot. Nothing compares to real down feathers! It keeps you warm, but unlike the synthetic stuff- it breathes so the air circulation prevents it from being too toasty. We just could not believe that this "lightweight down blanket" was doing a better job than a "heavyweight alternative-down comforter!" We are soooooo happy with it!
The only reason we gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the issue of the stitch not going all the way to the binding edge, as one customer already pointed out. So the feathers on the outside/perimeter boxes have the potential to shift around and therefore not evenly distributed over time.
On a good note: we were not concerned with the fern design. Our bedroom's decor is coastal beach inspired so of course fern leaves totally does not fit in. But we have it so that the solid color is on top and it's not an issue. Plus, when we make our bed we have a decorative bed spread so that totally covers any sign of ferns.
This down feather blanket is wonderful and we are very happy with it! It's like sleeping in a fancy hotel every night!

Nice down blanket
This is a nice down blanket & I am testing to see how warm it keeps me as our weather is turning colder.

Feathers Everywhere!
When I first received the blanket it was very stiff, and had a crinkly sound to it, but as it was warm I hoped that it would soften up with time and use. However, I ended up sending it back because of a serious problem it had of shedding feathers everywhere. I was afraid to attempt to wash it because of the shedding.

Love it
Lightweight but warm. My husband likes those awful pile filled comforters, I don't. This was something we both like.

Poor design
I received one of these and the hem was not sewn at the binding, so I had feathers everywhere. QVC graciously replaced it, at which point I discovered it was the old design of NOT sewing the down blocks to the edge of the binding. I have one like that from Northern Nights and it is on its way to Goodwill. I bought H195511, which IS sewn all the way to the binding and the down stays where it belongs, not all sifted to the outer edges. Please, NN, correct this design flaw. I would love to buy another one from QVC since this second one is going back today!

Love This Blanket
I have never been disappointed in a Northern Nights purchase and this blanket is no exception. The fern design is so beautiful and relaxing it makes you just want to fall into bed! It is lightweight but I don't need anything but this and a sheet to be warm at night. Highly recommended!

Feathers, Feathers Everywhere
I made the mistake of washing this blanket and the feathers were everywhere, the washer was loaded, the dryer vent needed to be cleaned every 10 minutes. I took it outside and shook it and more feathers. May explain why I have been having respiratory problems the past few weeks. I have several other Northern Nights Blankets and have never had this issue. Hopefully I can still return it.

Luxury Botanical Fern Blanket
I bought this beautiful fern blanket in the stunning ivory for my cal-king bed.This blanket is luxury at its best.This blanket does not only keep warm ,it is so soft you dont want to get out of bed ,thats how comfortable this blanket is.I have 4 different styles of sheets from northern nights,but this is my first blanket purchase. not my last!

Another GREAT Northern Nigh Product
This is the second down blanket I have ordered from Northern Nights (along with 5-6 sheet sets and a coverlet). Northern nights never disappoints. This is a beautiful blanket (as is the one I bought a couple of years ago from NN). There was no musty smell (as stated in the previous post). I am seriously considering buying another (although not sure what we need a 3rd down blanket for -- maybe if my wife sends me out to the couch some night).

My FAVORITE blanket!
I love this blanket so much, that I actually have two and am now purchasing a third for the master bedroom of our new home. They are beautiful and are the perfect weight. I use this blanket year round (I live in Central New York, which is hot in the summer and cold in the winter). These blankets hold up beautifully! My oldest blanket is six years old, the other is two years old. I have two queen size, which I wash in my machine, hang to dry, and then pop in the dryer for a bit to fluff back up. They always come out perfectly! LOVE this blanket as well as Northern Nights in general! Don't hesitate to give it a try (:

Odor
Upon opening the poorly packaged blanket a musty odor hit my nostrils. Back it went.
