Ninja Kitchen System
I've had this for a while & use it almost daily. Makes great smoothies but has so many other uses too. Great for chopping onions, peppers etc. It's much more than a blender.
LOVE THIS NINJA!!!
I've had this Ninja blender for a while now, and couldn't be happier! Because of it's powerful motor and multi-blade attachment, it blends and whips everything to perfection. The extra attachments are helpful (such as the dough paddle for mixing cookie dough). Clean-up is easy. My favorite is the 6-blade attachment-- which makes the absolute best smoothies (using frozen fruit and milk or juice) and fat-free whipped cream (from fat-free milk).
I really love my Ninja!
Some pros...More cons!
I've recently started making almond milk and butter, and several other items in an attempt to avoid so many processed foods. Neither the blender nor the processor bowl works to make nut butters....the ingredients hit the side of the container and stay there. After taking the lid off and scraping the sides down 8-9 times, I gave up. My 15 year old B&D food processor worked so much better...until I dropped the lid and cracked it. Of course, too old to buy replacement parts...ugh! The suction cups for holding the machine to the counter worked well...for about six months, now they don't work at all. I set it to hold and left it there...it sits where I put it originally. The lids were a bit of a challenge...I too had trouble getting them to fit properly so the machine would actually turn on. Then the light bulb went on...switch the lids...they aren't interchangeable! Worked fine after that silly adjustment. It does blend some things well...but overall, I'm pretty disappointed. The only option for the food processor is chop...no shred, slice, etc....and quantity is limited due to the small container. I guess its on me for not doing enough research...you can bet I'll be reading specifics AND reviews before I buy anything else!
Got this because the Kitchen Aid blender I've had for years just couldn't handle today's blending. Would not make snow ice for drinks or make Smoothies from whole fruits and veggies. The one thing I do not like is that the lower blades seem to have a problem with celery, even if I cut the celery into to smaller pieces. To overcome this I just put the celery in higher up instead of in first when I make chicken or turkey or egg salad. Wish they would make that blade different at the bottom. I have had no problems with the lid at all. Just match the white arrow and there you go. Easy as pie. I would never spend $500, $600, $700 for a blender. This one does everything the Vitamix does, except soup and I wouldn't care for soup heated with a heated blender in the first place. Very happy with my Kitchen System..
Excellent product, haven't stopped using it!
I can honestly say that I haven't gone a single day without using this blender since I received it!! I'm really not sure what the other 2 reviewers are talking about in reference to the usability of the blender... The lids are meant to only go on ONE WAY so that they lock securely closed (for safety reasons). You align 2 arrows on the top and done!!! Then there's a release button to get the lid off again (you don't just yank it off). I LOVE that the pitchers are plastic (BPA free, by the way), because its light, easy to use, and BEST of all, easy to clean. I've made smoothies, sauces, soups, bread, etc in it, and they all turn out GREAT, and I've only got one item to wash at the end of it. This is the best investment, and I don't regret it one bit!
Word for the wise, the blades are CRAZY sharp, so be super careful cleaning them.
Sorry to have bought this
I've had this thing for over a year and should have sent it back. Containers are plastic. I took them apart and washed and dried them, anxious to use. I haven't been able to get them back together to safely use them! The lids just won't go down far enough to lock in place. They are sitting on my counter taking up space and collecting dust! Can't even get any suggestions from the owners manual! Would never recommend buying this particular set. At $159 (could have bought a working Ninja from Sams Club for half this price) I really expected better.
Returning Very Disappointed
Wanted to love this machine. Looks great, however, trying to get the lid off is a joke. The containers are made of plastic not glass and when you try to remove the lid you find yourself pulling so hard that you are afraid of cracking the container. The lid is a two part assembly and I realized that a metal piece had loosened from inside. Can't deal with this - sent it back.
