A222263 - Motto Regular Ikat Printed Elastic Waist Long Skirt 3.3 5 12 12
VERY DISAPPOINTED Received my skirt Monday, and could barely wait to get home to try it on. What a letdown! First of all, the outer skirt is made of a very thin, chiffon-like fabric. The colors were nice (I had the Navy), but it hung very full (I'm an XL) which made it pretty much see-through all the way down. What really messed things up was the lining -- it was made of an off-white cotton- looking fabric, and it was not full like the skirt! Perhaps on small sized ladies the skirt hangs with more gathers, and therefore doesn't seem to be floating around this mismatched lining, but it just didn't work for me. Might I suggest that if Motto, or whoever, is going to make a long, flowing, CHIFFON skirt, maybe they should consider either making it a couple layers thick, or lining it with a fabric that is similar in drape or hand, only thicker. Sorry -- this one is on it's way back. 06-28-12
georgeous skirt first i ordered it in the navy, and just loved it right on in sizing. i now ordered it in brown and cannot wait to get it. 06-18-12
Really tall gals should order this! I am 5'9" and take a 2X. I ordered the navy and love it. It really is long which I love since most of my life everything has been too short. I'm in my early 70's and love the maxi skirts since they cover up all my ortho surgery scars of which they are many. I can't wear heels, but if you can wear a higher heel wedge, this skirt would be so lovely. I have to wear flats and might have to roll the waistband up once, but that's fine with me. The lining? Really not the best but I'm not going to send it back because of it. I can't wait to wear the skirt to church on Sunday! The print is great and not really like regular stripes which would make me look bigger. 05-24-12
Almost perfect! I don't understand the negative reviews about the sizing. I'm 5'6", 135 lbs., ordered the X-Small in Navy and the length is perfect for wearing flats. There must be inconsistancies with the sizing? Or maybe I have longer legs? Anyway, the color is nice and the fabric is great (although the lining could be better). The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars, is the fullness around the waist. A little too much fabric. If you don't wear the perfect thing on top, you could look a little thick through the waist and hips. I'm really picky though. 04-11-12
Love the 39" Length. I'm 5"7". If you like this skirt shorter - order the petite. Hits at the ankle ( above your shoe). I like the full length. Hits mid shoe. I ordered both, just to find out for myself. Love the Blue, sent back the Brown. Lining is an ecru cotton - I had no problem with the fit. Ordered the Medium (41" hips) and it flows right straight down, which is what I prefer. Beautiful, airy and feminine! LOVE 04-11-12
Close but... Let me start off with the positives, it has pretty colors in the pattern and the skirt part is very flowy. But I am 5'5 1/2 tall and this skirt is so long it requires at least 3 inch heels, wedges etc. Without the height I wld trip all over it. Also that lining is so tight! Its like sheet material. I swear I am gna cut it out and go get a half slip at the store. I bought my usual Medium and I cant pull it over my hips, I had to put it over my head and move it down, which was made difficult as the lining bunched up. If you are average height this will be to long for you unless you wanna wear heels in the summer ( which in my opinion defeats the purpose of an "easy" summer skirt. and that lining is not light nor gauzy, it holds heat, yet another con in the summer. Please Motto, you are on the right track, please please go back to the drawing board. 03-21-12
Beautiful Print but WAY Too Long! I really love this skirt-I purchased both colors. The fabric is light and airy and the colors will carry thru to fall. The problem is the length. I'm 5'6" and skirt length has never been an issue for me but this skirt literally hits the floor. I was hoping to wear it with sandals but that just wouldn't work, so I'm going to try the petite. It's really a shame because it is such a pretty skirt and will go with so many color tops. 03-07-12
Gorgeous I'm almost 5'8" and did find this full length but it is beautiful. Shorter than me, order the petite, especially if you don't like full length---it is not tea length in regular. Generously cut - inbetween sizes order smaller size. Lining is a bit hip hugging and could be longer but I can work with that. Fine fabric. Very comfortable and only question I had was what to wear on top to match. I picked the navy. Anything in the Turquoise from D&C matches perfectly but don't know what to pick. (I have a tunic that is that color and tho not wearable with the skirt, great match) There is no video of the presentation of the skirt so nowhere to find ideas? This is a beauty and can dress up or down or pull all the way up above bust to be a dress. Top ideas, Susan??? thnking of some type vneck turq. sweater or tee shirt in turquoise. Of course anything navy would work or ivory/white. Beautiful - get this! 03-07-12
I don't understand ....too many negative comments about this lovely skirt. I ordered the petite in this, color blue. I'm only 5'4" and this DOES NOT drag on the floor! And no, I did not roll it up at the waistband either! This skirt is lovely, nice fabric and it's lined. I'm not thrilled with the fabric used for the lining b/c it feels like it's cotton. I tried mine on when I still had tights on my legs but I plant not to be wearing tights with this throughout the spring/summer!!!!!!!!!!!! So this lining will glide against the skin. I can wear sandals of any type - heels, or flats and the length will be fine. I still highly recommend this one as it is quite nice! 03-07-12
lining color all wrong I bought this in the blue and love the material/print itself. The reason I'm returning is that the fabric is so sheer that the pale beige color of the lining shows right through and looks awful. If it were a coordinating color I'd be keeping. I do agree that it's quite long. I'm 5'4 but never wear petites as I like things a bit long. Wearing flats with this would have been difficult but a small heel would have been fine. Unfortunately it will never come to pass due to the awful lining. 03-06-12
Too Bad I'm Not 6'4"... Well...It's a beautiful skirt...if you're VERY tall...I am not short by any means(5'6") but this skirt was dragging the floor when I tried it on...The fit is true to size, except for the length...I've never ordered a petite in my life so this will be a first...I ordered the navy and it is very pretty...hopefully my petite waitlist order will be filled at some point... 03-03-12
Half a great skirt I ordered this in the blue combination, and the colours are beautiful. The length was exactly as described, a bit too long for me to wear with flats, but perfect with a low heel. The skirt fabric is light, airy, and has wonderful movement to it. And had the manufacturer thought the lining through a bit better I would be ordering the second colour right now. But I just do NOT understand the concept of making the lining of a skirt that is cut with either an "a" line shape, or other fuller shape - fall straight from the waist as the lining for this skirt does. If you are at all like me and have an hourglass shape, and your hips are wider than your waist, having a straight slip that falls from the waist makes this skirt fit poorly. My choices are either to rip the lining out and just wear it over my own slips, or wear it as it and know that the slip is going to tear and/or be uncomfortable. Neither is what I expect from either a QVC product or Motto either. Sadly, it's going back. Please, please, please - have your linings cut in the same shapes as the skirts they are lining! 03-03-12
