Motor Trend Frost Guard No Scrape Windshield Protector 3.8 5 89 89
Did not work for me.. I work in a large office building and have to park in a big lot. I bought this windshield protector to help on really snowy days. Put this on my car the day it arrived and the snow storm was on the way. Right now it is on my patio waiting to thaw. The ice has made it stiff and I cannot get the ice off to put it back in my car. Going to try this again for the next snow storm and waiting to see how it works then. Second item I have purchased from QVC in a month that was questionable. 12-31-12
Back to the Drawing Board I am disappointed. I think the problem is the frost guard is too small I have a Honda Accord and the choice was ,which part of the windshield do I allow to be exposed...top or bottom at the wipers. The frost guard actually froze to my windshield and I was scrapping under the guard to loosen the icy "adhesive. So...save your money and your scrapers until the frost guard is made larger and can cover the windshield enough to protect it in a good old Northeaster. I would have mailed them back having purchased two of them, but I tossed the cylinders they arrived in. So...back to the design drawing board! 12-31-12
This cover works!! This cover almost completely covers the windshield including the wipers. I just pulled the cover down a bit so that it covered the wipers, and that left only about a two inch portion at the top uncovered, and about an inch or so on each side. The fabric is very sturdy. I have a jeep liberty suv to help with referencing the size of the windshield. The wipers, even though totally covered were still stuck a bit to the windshield, but nothing like they have been in the past with the weather up here in Boston. With about 4 inches of snow piled on top, the cover just lifted right off easily. Just shake it off and go. 12-30-12
Best windshield protector ever!!!! I LOVE it! I have purchased many wiindshield protectors only to be disappointed. However, I was not disappointed with this. I drive a Dodge Avenger and it covers the majority of the windshield and is made of very sturdy material. I love the fact that it attaches to the mirrors. My suggestions for improving it would be to be a bit bigger in depth to cover the whole windshield and to have some sort of coating so the straps don't get frozen to the mirrors (i.e. silicone covering perhaps). Other than that I love it. I do agree with others who commented about it that it should be in various sizes to fit larger windshields. Thanks for a great product. If this one wears out I will be back for another one. I have already used it for several snow and sleet storms here in central PA. 12-29-12
A Great Buy! I ordered 2. I live where it freezes and I was sick of scrapping before I could leave. I tried these for the first time and it worked great on my sedan. As a single mom, it saved me allot of time. My only suggestion is that I would like to see a flap added on to cover the windshield wipers. 12-29-12
Disappointing! Not as promoted Ordered 2. One for sedan one for van. Sedan one was fair but did not cover whole window so magnets did not work. One for van was only in middle of window. Forget the magnets! No where near the frame. We are getting a snow storm tonight will have to see if they get returned! Poor quality control. 12-28-12
Love This Product! Love...Love...Love the windshield protector!...very sturdy and well built. Just takes a minute to place the adjustable elastic straps over the side mirrors. Sure beats the plastic windshield cover I've been using for years. Love the fact that it fits over the side mirrors, and not from inside the car. 12-28-12
1st use 12/26/12 - heavy & wet snow day WONDERFUL!!!! It didn't come all the way to the bottom of my windshield; however, I LOVE it!!! I've already recommended it to others. 12-27-12
works fine BUT Got this as an X-mas gift and am using it for the first time today 12/26/2012. Looks fine but we have an SUV - I think that it should be a little 4 or 5 inches wider and longer so it covers the whole windshield. I think for smaller cars it will work fine. Should have a bigger size for trucks and SUV's. 12-26-12
Best window shield covering I have used I orderd one as being from Maine we have lots of snow. Even though it does not cover the whole front windshield thats ok as the main section is covered. I love the fact I don't have to scrape the front windshield in the morning. It goes on so easily and stays in place till I need to remove it. Cant wait for one you can put on the back window and I will be the first to order it. 12-26-12
VERY DISAPPOINTED!! I was so excited to get this item however it was a HUGE disappointment. The top part of the cover flops in the wind and does not stay down. This product does not work. BIG WASTE of my money. If the wind is blowing this product will not work. I live out in the country and when it snows it blows. Even when I was in town at work the top was flapping around in the wind. Looks like I will still be scraping. :( 12-26-12
love it needs to be a bit bigger I bought 6 of these for gifts and they apear to be used and scratched up..I guess that's they way they are...Make sure you take it off BEFORE you start your car....My windshield wipers were on and they got caught up in this cover and almost ripped the wipers off. My fault.....I wish they were a bit bigger and had sides to close in the doors so no-one steals them...I will keep them, the neices and nephews are happy here in Pa, no scraping windshields...heavy duty... 12-25-12
