Modern Elegance Westinghouse Solar Powered 3 Head Lamppost
Not Bright Short LIfe
The lamppost itself looks nice but could be a bit larger. The brightness of the LED's no way provided the brilliance that our previous lamppost did with standard single bulb AC powered! Also, the lights do NOT stay on all night long, even after several days of pure sunlight for the power cells. Comparing to neighbors solar powered lampposts, this one in no way compares as good! Disappointed and would return if we could!
I bought this a couple of years ago put it in concrete in my front yard it was great the first year, started giving me trouble the next had to tap on it to get the lights to come on and about 6 months into the second year it stopped working what a let down. Should have called QVC but didn't now I have a light in the yard that doesn't even work!!!!!!!
great looking lamppost
I just received this lamppost in white..It was very well packed and all the parts were there..It was very easy to put together..The only problem that I had was with the Planting Pot..I don't know why it was made in two pieces and it was not made well..It took me a couple of times to get it together which was very frustrating..The rest of the post was made well and the lanterns are beautiful with real glass..i took advice from the other reviews and put the top which holds the lanterns on last, after I put it where I wanted it and filled the pot with two bags of marble chips and some soil to install some plants..I am very happy with this lamppost..It looks very beautiful..It doesn't give off a lot of light, but just enough to light up the area surrounding it..The only thing that they need to change is the pot, very cheaply made..I hope this withstands the winds that we get down here in Florida..We will see..
I purchased this item as a Christmas gift for my parents,so hopefully this will not be a difficult item to put together. According to the directions my 85 year old parents willhave very little problems, but we will see come Christmas time.
Putting the flower pot portion of this lamppost together has been one of the most frustrating experiences I have ever had (mine have the two tiers.) I bought two and the same was true for both. However, the machining on one was excellent and all bolts, post sections, etc. fit together perfectly - the other was so-so.
I have seen these before so I know they will be beautiful in operation, so I am giving them 4 stars. The missing star is for failure to find a better way to manufacture that doggone flower pot!
I received this lamp post, it is poorly constructed and very top heavy, I got it all together put it where I wanted it and turned around to get the stones to weigh it down it tipped over that fast and broke into pieces.....the only good thing about it was that the lights are very bright and beautiful.
BEST SOLAR PURCHASE EVER
THIS LAMP POST IS AWESOME. IT GIVES OFF THE BRIGHTEST LIGHTS. THERE ARE 3 LAMPS AND IT IS NOT VERY HARD TO PUT TOGETHER. IT IS A MUST TO PUT 3 BRICKS IN THE BOTTOM AND SAND TO WEIGHT IT DOWN IN CASE YOU HAVE A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WITH HIGH WINDS. I PUT MY ON ONE SIDE OF THE GARAGE AND IT LOOKS SO GREAT I JUST ORDERED ANOTHER TO PUT ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE GARAGE. DON'T FORGET TO PUT THE ON, SWITCH ON, EACH ONE HAS A SWITCH AT THE BOTTOM OF THE BULB. YOU CAN PLANT FLOWERS OR PUT QUALITY ARTIFICIAL IVY IN IT. ENJOY COMING HOME TO A LOVELY LITE UP HOUSE ON THE OUTSIDE.
I would give it 10 stars! Everything I dreamed of. A very good purchase and that's a lot for a legally blind man to say. All of my workers love it too. It does not tip over when weighed down correctly with rocks/dirt. Thanks for having it!!
Great Buy Nice Light
Just received this today and i love it along with all my other Westinghouse lights. Love the option to either use as a planter or make a cement pad and bolt it down. Westinghouse has not let me down yet.
Beautiful lighting effect!
I assembled and installed my new lamppost yesterday in about 30 minutes, box to lawn, and it is amazing! The instructions were clear and assembly was easy, with the exception of the upper band of the planter. That needs some improving, but overall, it was easy for a mechanically challenged lady! I filled the container with marble chips before attaching the upper lamps, so there was no issue with tipping over. The lamps charged for about 6 to 7 hours before dusk, and when they came on, it was so beautiful!! The pattern and diameter of the light on the ground and surrounding area was more than I had hoped for - absolutely beautiful!!! Time will tell about the durability of this lamppost, but for now - I recommend this for anyone who wants pretty lighting.
We got 2 of these in black. As people should do, I read the instructions first. The instructions advise that the planter be weighted with bricks and/or soil/sand to keep the planter from falling over. I had the planters for about 10 days before I got them planted. In the meantime, I placed them in corners so that the strong winds would not blow them over, as I did not have any bricks or soil at that time. The planters did give me a little problem in attaching the top part to the bottom part. Notches and hooks need to be aligned and then the top twisted to lock the 2 pieces together. Due to the large size of the planter, I had my husband hold and turn the bottom as I aligned and turned and top to lock them. No problem. I am cautious and grasp the bottom of the planter if I want to move it around. I am afraid that pulling the top portion of the planter may unlock the pieces. The planters are now weighted with bricks and planted with beautiful flowers. They are elegant looking. The lights are strong and the light pattern on the ground is beautiful. Also, the planter placed on the patio gets filtered sun to full shade during the day. The lights still charge up and are just as bright at the planter in the front of the house that gets about 6 hours of full sun. This is a beautiful product, you shouldn't regret buying it; but -- please, people, read and follow the instructions!!!
I bought this in black and absolutely love it. I just ordered another one for my front in white. Mu husband put three bricks in the bottom filled it with soil and it looks beautiful with my plant in it. I put a plant that climbs and it looks so pretty. We have had strong winds and no problem with it blowing over. If you put something heavy at the base before the dirt it makes it quite sturdy. I have been on waitlist for the white for a while and just checked status, showed they were still out of it. I figured they would never get it in so I googled looking for one and it directed me right to QVC, where I was able to order it. I don't understand why the order was not filled already if they had it in stock.
