I thought ordering a replacement soup bowl that I had broken would be very easy. No such happening. After 3 or 4 tries, I gave up. The bowl sent to me didn't match the creamy color. They were almost a tan. They sent me another. It was lighter, but no match. Then they sent me a set of totally different bowls. Needless to say I gave up. Now when I have someone over for dinner, they notice the difference in color of the bowls. I just say,
"That is Mikasa quality.

Needed another size of bowls to complete our serving pieces. Foolishly, we've been using the sherbet bowls we had as salad bowls. Now we can properly set a table with bowls that will hold an average adult serving.
Have had our Italian Countryside for 12 years and love the quality and timeless design.

Very study bowls and will work great for teenage sized cereal servings! I also love that these are large enough to do double time as small servings dishes. Perfect when I set the table for 2 or 3.
Rated 3 out of 5 by MarR Too Fragile for Everyday Use
I do love this pattern and the choices of pieces available, but these dishes are not heavy duty and do not hold up well to family use. They crack and chip way too easily when used as everyday dishes, which is what I use them for. This set of 4 bowls were to replace the many we have had to throw out for chips and cracks. They are too expensive to have to be replaced so often. The stonewear from my wedding in the 70's were much more practical for daily use and lasted much longer. These are not fancy enough to just use for special occasions, and we have an inherited set of china for that purpose.
Do I recommend them? They are beautiful and stylish, but I would only recommend them if you plan to baby them and treat as very delicate.
Rated 1 out of 5 by ItalCountryside Terrible! Do not match other Italian Countryside dishes
I purchased these bowls to go with my Italian Countryside dinnerware. They are a completely different color from the other dishes (more of a yellow cream) and the scroll work along the top is far more raised. When I purchased these I also purchased an additional Vegetable bowl (#DD900-750) this matched my other Italian Countryside dinnerware. Do not purchase these if you want them to match your Italian Countryside dishes.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Ranchgal These 6 inch bowls have an unglazed footing
These 6 in bowls are a perfect addition to my set. Exactly what I wanted... until I unpacked them and placed them in the sink to wash. I noticed a grayish color creeping up the sides of the bowls. They were absorbing water through the unglazed foot ring on the bottom of the bowl. Not only was this gray discoloration unsightly, but what would have happened if I had placed one of them in the microwave? All my other pieces of this pattern are fully glazed on the bottom. Customer service is looking for bowls that are fully glazed and will ship replacements as soon as possible. I appreciate their help. Mikasa, you need to change the manufacturing specs for these bowls.

I went back and forth on which size bowl to get and these are perfect. Large enough for soup, cereal but not too large for a side dish. Love the Italian Countryside!

In looking at reviews of the 7" cereal bowls, I thought they might be too big for my needs. And the other reviewers were right! These 6" are just right for cereal. This is my second purchase of four of the 6". When the kids are home for holidays, etc, we run out quickly, so I bought extras (although I could go for days without running the dishwasher if I use them all!).
