Born in Slovenia, Melania Trump began her modeling career at age 16. After earning a degree in design and architecture in Slovenia, Melania began jetting back and forth between Paris and Milan for photo shoots.
Melania has appeared in high-profile ad campaigns and has worked with top photographers in the industry — Patrick Demarchelier, Helmut Newton, Arthur Elgort, Ellen Von Unwerth, Peter Arnell, Antoine Verglas, and Mario Testino. At 5'11", Melania has graced the covers of Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, British GQ, Ocean Drive, Avenue, InStyle, and New York. Major layouts have been featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, Allure, Self, Glamour, Vanity Fair, and Elle. In addition, Melania has appeared in numerous TV commercials, most recently for Aflac, and has also co-hosted The View with Barbara Walters.
With a penchant for the arts, architecture, design, and fashion, Melania has thrived on the cultural diversification of New York City. This passion can only be surpassed by her dedication to helping others. She was an honorary chairwoman of the Martha Graham Dance Company in April 2005; an active member of the Police Athletic League that named her Woman of the Year in 2006; and an honorary chairwoman for the Boy's Club of New York for five consecutive years. In 2005, the American Red Cross named her "Goodwill Ambassador" that she's proudly served as for four years. In 2008, she was asked by Love Our Children USA and NASDAQ to participate in the 5th Annual National Love Our Children Day by ringing the closing bell at the beginning of National Child Abuse Prevention Month. In 2010, she was the chairwoman of the American Heart Association's Annual Heart Ball, which raised $1.7 million for heart disease research.
Melania married Donald Trump in January 2005. In March 2006, they had their first child, Barron William Trump. She now brings her jewelry collection, Melania® Timepieces & Jewelry, to QVC.
