Not Working afterr using 4 times I have only had this smoker 8 months and used 4 or 5 times and now it will not go above 200 degrees. I can't understand how it gets such high ratings on QVC , when on the other web sites people are ranting against it with the same problem I have. should have bought at Costco where they are good about returning. 04-25-13
Absolutely WONDERFUL!! I bought this smoker approximately 2 years ago, and have used it often! I also have the cookbooks: "Dadgum That's Good" and "Dadgum That's Good, Too". These are great also. I have smoked turkey breasts, pork tenderloins, steaks, meatloafs, whole chickens and chicken parts, vegetables and potatoes, with no problems. My friends all have loved the smoked food. I have used recipes and ideas from the cookbooks, as well as my own creations. I have found that taking the time to brine the poultry provides not only an excellent flavor, but the meat is very moist. Don't be afraid of this machine. Use a thermometer to be sure that the products are done to your desire, be creative and ENJOY! My sister also have this smoker and they love it too! 04-24-13
SO GOOD!!! I really like this smoker. This beats my old smoker hands down. We smoke salmon and now with this smoker being so easy, I now do all kinds of meats. It's built well but is just so easy to use. Great product. 04-11-13
Great Smoker! I purchased this smoker for my brother for Christmas 2012 and he made a turkey breast for our Easter dinner today and it was excellent! The meat came out tender and juicy the flavor was wonderful, he used mesquite wood chips, It was way better than cooking it in the oven! 03-31-13
Love it So much easier then my charcoal smoker and the food tastes the same. Love the smoker as a tip I use throw away aluminum pans makes the clean up so much easier and doesn't destroy the heating element. 03-19-13
The only way to go! We smoked our thanksgiving turkey, moist jucyand oh so tastey! we smoked our christmas ham, no joke, simply mouth wattering. Thought we would just use it a few times but oh no. My hubby smokes everything! Burgers are to die for, fish is great, pork stays moist and jucy. Even other things besides meat turn out simply wonderfull. Mac n cheese, veggies, augroten potatoes. It actually saves me tons of time cause hubby cooks more now! 01-10-13
The caveman in you will thank you! This smoker is the best because it is electric and the control of the heat is key to getting the most tender smoked meat possible. I just made the best smoked prime rib roast I have ever had in my life. I calibrated the temp so that it stayed at 225 degrees and the prime rib was so tender through and through I didnt need a knife! I almost cried it was so good. I have done spare ribs, turkey, chicken, ham and now the prime rib. All was wonderful. Get this smoker and an instant read meat thermometer to test the meat and make sure it is cooked to your taste and you will be a rock star. Remember, the way to a man's heart... Need I say more? Ha! Need cookbook Bought the cooker and it was very easy to assemble. It had a dent in the door but I didn't want to expend the time to re-pack it, and have it shipped back. I figured the dent would not prevent the cooker from working properly. I used it for the first time and it did not cook as advertised. On TV, it was really smoking. When I used it, I barely saw smoke. For best results you should buy the cookbook. The manual really doesn't help you with cooking instructions so, you are basically on your own. 01-04-13
sooooo good Not very fancy but what fantastic results! I've been having a ball smoking everything you can think of. Leg of lamb-perfect. Salmon-perfect. And I made my own bacon! Best I ever tasted. This Thanksgiving I made the best tasting turkey we've ever had. Maybe the digital model would be easier but with a little extra effort this unit is great. 11-23-12
Very Disappointed in Quality I purchased the Masterbuilt Electric Smoker in November, 2010. I have only used it four times. The food came out great each time. However, last week I went to use it again. Every time I turned it on, it threw the breaker. The control worked until I plugged it into the heating element. Then, when I turned on the thermostat, the breaker threw again. I have not been able to find a heating element. They do not sell replacement parts on Masterbuilt's website. I emailed Masterbuilt but have not received a response. I am very disappointed. 11-14-12
Great Smoker I have had this smoker for over a year. A friend asked me to smoke some venison and it came out delicious. She cut the meat thin and marinated it. She wanted jerkey so I smoked it about 3 hours with hickory chips and in the middle of the low range. I also smoked asparagus. I marinated it overnight in italian dressing, smoked it and it's wonderful too. I also smoked trout with apple chips. The result was very delicate and subtle. By the way, I am a woman and it's easy to use. 11-04-12
So EASY for a Novice Just had to add my voice to the chorus for this product. First time ever using a smoker, I was nervous. Especially since I was preparing brisket, ribs and chicken for the rehearsal dinner for my daughter's wedding. Was so wonderful to get such RAVE reviews from friends and family. Even the skinny girls who just "nibble" took an extra helping. Now my daughter is a real fan of brisket, too - she never liked it before I made it in the Masterbuilt smoker.
