About Marc Bouwer
As a child growing up in South Africa, Marc Bouwer was inspired by movies and the beautiful women that starred in them. Years later, he took that inspiration and translated it into sophisticated couture creations.
Bouwer was encouraged to enter the fashion world by a family friend. He studied fashion design and won the South African Vogue Young Designer Award. Driven by that honor, Bouwer decided to move to New York City to pursue a career in couture design.
In 1990, Bouwer established his namesake design house with partner Paul Margolin. For each season’s collection, he selects extraordinary fabrics and creates new silhouettes. The results are stunning, dramatic, and deceptively simple. His signature has become fluid draping, which uniquely enhances the female figure.
Bouwer has developed a cult following in Hollywood. His clientele includes film and TV stars, singers, and socialites. There’s no doubt Bouwer knows what looks good on women, and that’s why he decided to bring a couture–inspired sportswear line to QVC. The M by Marc Bouwer Collection features pieces that combine his bold flair with his famous attention to detail.
