Nice summer hat
I like this hat. One reviewer said she would not wear it in the sun......I would. The hat is meant to be a fashion hat, not a sun-blocking hat. If I am going to spend hours in the sun, I have other hats to wear for protection. In this one, I am just going to look cute in my maxi-dresses I bought this spring for the first time. Got the brown/natural and it is very pretty.

The sun can filter through
The weave on this hat is somewhat open. The crown of the brown hat that I received had the largest holes/open weave which would allow sun rays to filter through. If you look closely at the photos, you can see the openings in the weave. Most paper straw hats are not so open and provide better coverage. Even if this hat were free, I would not risk wearing it in the summer sun.
