Liz Claiborne New York Anorak Jacket with Removable Hood
I just received this in navy, in size small. I did order up per the (click here) size guide, and previous reviews that said it ran slim. I agree. It is cut a bit narrow in the shoulders for a jacket, but it's good! It's long and slim. Very soft and quiet fabric. True, dark navy. Very well made and love the details. It's feminine, but not frilly. I am about 5' 5", and it falls to a few inches above my knees. But I knew that, and wanted a longer jacket. Also appreciate the option of the removable hood. It's a nice and simple, light and comfortable jacket. Love it! I may order the green, too! :) If you are interested, compare your shoulder and chest measurements against the (click here) chart, it fits true to that size guide. We can tighten the waist with the easy draw cord inside. Thanks Linda and Carol Ann! You always know what we need!
I did not find this jacket to be flattering at all. I got it in the green and liked it even less. Am returning it. Sorry
Lightweight but not for rain!
I bought the navy and tan (burlap) anorak jackets and like them a lot. The fabric is very lightweight and the coat fits well. I like the ruffled collar, too. The only problem is that it is not rain proof or wet proof! I was out in the light rain today and got soaked underneath. I have the coat hanging up to dry off. So buy it if you want a lightweight coat for a cool evening but don't buy it if you want it to keep you dry!
The fit was good, but the material was so thin that I was afraid that it might rip if the zipper or snaps became caught. I returned it, but would have kept it if the material had been better.
Great spring jacket
I ordered the jasper green and it is just beautiful. You might want to go up a size on this one. Even though it's a bit snug I'm going to keep it. I'll wear it on a cool spring morning and to church.
This is my first LC purchase. This 'jacket' is more of a coat in length and coverage. I ordered the medium, my usual size for coats, and it fits well. It is exactly as stated in the description. Lightweight, and the navy is a very true, rich navy. The fabric feels like peach skin and is not going to attract lint or dog hair (thankfully). It is bitter cold here now but I am looking forward to wearing this coat come spring, through summer and into fall. The reduced price made this a good buy.
Really Liz ???
From the moment I opened the package, I was not impressed. I expect better quality from Liz Claiborne. The fabric is flimsy, thin, and shapeless. The one cord (inside, for cinching the waist) was not sewn well, and was coming apart. Also, the fabric gives off way too much static electricity when putting on & taking off the garment. The color (green) was pretty and the fit was ok.
Very cute all-weather jacket
I bought this to be my raincoat. I like that it's a bit longer than a car coat, giving better coverage when it's raining. It also is a good coat for spring or fall. The material has a nice feel to it. I wear size 6 - 8 clothes and bought a size Small. If you are in doubt, I would go up a size in this one. I got the burlap, a pretty khaki color. The price has been reduced, making this a good buy.
So glad I got it!
I bought the green and love the color and fit. I wanted a jacket with a hood and something for rain or cool weather. This will be perfect for the fall and spring weather. Wish I could get the other colors!
I ordered this item in red on a whim...fell in love with it and am now back for all the colors. I wish it also came in black. I ordered up a size and the fit is perfect over a sweater, etc. The material feels like a "rose petal".
So Far So Good
I like the Anorak jacket so far. I just received it today and haven't washed it as yet. The length is great and it is really just as depicted on TV and on line. You can see the quality in everything about the jacket. The zip and the snaps and the adorable collar and the button off hood is all wonderful. My only problem is that in order to get it around my bottom, I had to order a size larger but it's not a real big deal. I'm not narrow in the lower hip area and this does tend to be straight in style but the waist cinches in nicely.
perfect spring weight
A very nice jacket, and would recommend this to most. I am only 5'8", and found the sleeve length to be a little short. Otherwise, very well detailed.
