Rated 1 out of 5 by My Word! Neckline Problem
It was quite a surprise to see a Linea product that was not properly finished. The neckline was just rolled over so the end of the fabric slipped out. It was also a very tight fit. I would not let it have space in my closet so it was immediately returned.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Goldie76 Perfect for Dressy Dinner Out & Theatre
This top pleased me precisely because of some of the objections others had. Do I like that it is not a thick and spongy velvet? Yes, because I prefer this more delicate fabric on my body. It does have a silky feel to it. My choice was the walnut, and I plan to wear it and its matching skirt for dress-up evenings where the lights are dim. I think this design and fabric will have a captivating glow about it. The outfit will be perfect for restaurants, the theatre, etc., when you want to gussy up but not to an extreme. This perfectly suits my purposes and needs. I would not wear this to the office -- but that is me.
Rated 2 out of 5 by 0mrj Not the usual quality
Received this in the mail today, the same day it appeard as a lunchtime special, at a significantly reduced price. I've had my eye on this a long time and couldn't resist when it went on clearance with easy pay, even with the negative reviews. This time they were right. I have purchased 4 jackets and 2 shirts from this line and am highly satisifed with all of them, but this one missed the mark. This is a very thin velour-type material; not at all velvet. There is a vertical seam on the inside front middle of the shirt which shows through to the outside when I put it on. To add insult to injury, I ordered my regular size, checked the size chart, and ordered accordingly. The arms are too small and the shirt made me look like a cow. Am returning tomorrow. Disappointed, to say the least, but will pay more attention to the reviews next time. To me, the quality does not match the price, even at the lunchtime special price. I recommend that you save your money and time on this one.
Rated 2 out of 5 by petesey old fashioned top
i returned this immediately. the fabric is not what i thought it was, it is very thin and the over all look of item is very old fashioned. the neckline would not lay right plus it was too big for me. all in all, a bad purchase.
Rated 1 out of 5 by yankee101 A bit disappointing
Having purchased Linea fashions before, I was somewhat disappointed in this top and the matching skirt. The design is first class, but the materials AND the workmanship left a lot to be desired. Several fabric edges that could be visable were finished only with a serge stitch. The fabric itself in lightweigt and flimsy with a low number of pile fibres per inch. The seams had poor tension and severasl were noticably puckered. I did not return the set, but plan to wear it for casual events like shopping trips since it is more the quality that one would find in the big box discount stores. What a shame such a lovely design and concept was executed so poorly.
Rated 1 out of 5 by DebbieDD This is Linea?
I was hesitant to order this one but was so tempted by the idea of a velvet top, styling and the beautiful print. The reviews started to come in and many ladies seemed pleased with the fabric which is why I ordered. Sad to say I should have listened to my instincts. This fabric is reminiscent of an older thin, stretchy, velour set (from Denim & co) that I found in my closet and donated 3 or 4 years ago. Don't know what I was thinking then but I know better now! Sorry Louis, this one is going back.
Rated 3 out of 5 by foxie2 Not what I expected
All other purchases in this line really have a "this is a keeper" response from me. I really thought about sending this back. I just can't decide . I hope that it will look good with jeans, as I don't like it trying to be dressy. At least it is comfy!
Rated 2 out of 5 by traveling mom Not up to the standard
The Linea line sets the quality bar so high that when something is not up to standard, it is a huge disappointment. That is the situation with this top. The cut and fit are beautiful and the top has a nice drape (if you don't like your tops too fitted go up a size) but the fabric is definitely something I would expect to find in a cheap item. It is shiny and thin. Really not my taste. Back it goes.
Rated 2 out of 5 by helping Too old-fashioned and fit is not the best
I've finally decided to return this top after debating for a long time. The fabric and print are just too old-fashioned. Louis, please continue with your classic styles and make more cool styles like the relaxed "shabby chic" cardigan. I love tailored, classic clothes, but I think this top is just out-of-date.
Rated 5 out of 5 by gigot BEAUTIFUL FABRIC,DESIGN;FIGURE FLATTERING!!
This top is very luxurious, colors sumptious, and can be dressed up or down. Beautiful and hip with jeans and boots;formal with dress slacks or velvet skirt. I would size down to accentuate figure and if between sizes, size down. The black option is so rich and the hints of dark purple and wine make this feel very retro. With a jean blazer and black pants-stunning. The walnut shade is very "fall" and wonderful with anything, esp. tweeds. Can't go wrong;neckline is sumptious and sensual-very, very flattering.
Rated 2 out of 5 by llamamama Haven't Decided
For the total price of over $60 (shipping etc) I'm not entirely sure this is a good value. The fabric is not what I would call velvet. It's more like a thin stretchy brushed polyester. That's not what I was looking for. It fits fine, good length in body, but the sleeves are 'bracelet" length, and styled tight, so you can't push them up. Unless I wear a bracelet, the sleeve length will look too short. So all together, I will have to try it on for a couple of days to decide if it's what I was looking for-for the holidays.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Kola Styling problems
I like the fabric but this top has styling problems that make it very unattractive and unwearable. There is no shape to it and it looks like a big sack. The neckline has major problems in the back which need to be fixed.
It looks old and "frumpy" and I'd be embarrassed to be seen in it.
I wear an XL and it was generously sized.
