This recipe is prepared with the Temp-tations® Sweet & Savory 10-piece Baking Set (K39454).
This bread is a yummy treat you can serve for breakfast or dessert. During the holiday season, consider making mini loaves and giving them as gifts!
2 cups sugar
1–1/2 tsp baking powder
1–1/2 tsp salt
1–1/2 Tbsp poppy seeds
1–1/2 cups milk
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1–1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1–1/2 tsp almond extract
1–1/2 tsp butter extract
3 cups flour
1 cup powdered sugar
1–1/2 Tbsp water
1 tsp lemon extract
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Combine the first ten ingredients in a large bowl and mix well. Then, slowly add the flour, making sure to scrape the sides of the bowl.
Pour the mixture into a loaf pan, or into a muffin pan if you would like mini loaves. Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick in the middle of the loaf comes out clean. (Mini loaves may take less time, check them after 20 minutes.)
While bread is baking, prepare the glaze. Combine all glaze ingredients in a small bowl and whisk together until the sugar is dissolved. Set aside.
When finished baking, remove the bread from the pan and let it cool. Once it's completely cooled, brush it with the lemon glaze.
