LEE SANDS PUTS A NEW SLANT FOR ME ON AMBER MIX… …Lee’s the mix of shades of neutral hues in a three-strand necklace features shades of yellow quartzite, citrine, tiger's-eye, agate, and golden pearls, and SURPRISED ME WAS THE AMBER. I don’t usually steer toward my love of Amber mixed in a necklace of such proportions and differing gem sizes, but took a chance at the ‘different slant’. The combo of goldtone bead accents and end-caps gives Lee’s creation an extra zing. But, alas, my heart did not open enough to the ‘beads, chips, nuggets’ -- the necklace gems looked ‘cheap’ in expression one to the other. The finest effort is the color combo and the three strands; plus the 20” length with a 2” extender. Sorry, Lee but this did not -hit my heart - enough to keep, but three stars for the variation of gems. This is not to say that I don’t have other items of your heart’s designs that are in my heart spot. 08-15-12
