Excellent Product
This powder doesn't dull your makeup - it actually does exactly as described... it erases the glittery, shimmer of so many of today's eye and face products. I think it also helps to 'set' your makeup and control oiliness. I use it with Bare Essentuals foundation and Smashbox Halo(sp?) (Fickle much?). It has no color - maybe you could call it translucent. The only complaint I have is that I do not need another brush or cosmetic bag!

Very Good Product
I am a fan of several of Laura's products and really liked the Matte Maker Invisible oil blotting powder. Has this been discontinued? I can't find it in Laura's inventory. The Shimmer Down Powder is great also for keeping the oily shine down but like other reviewers, I don't need another bag or brush. Can we just purchase the powder alone?

Like the product, not the brush
I do like the product a lot - it is micro fine and does not have the heaviness of powders and other finishing products that I have used, keep it up Laura.
However, the brush is a bit of a hit or miss. I like to store my brushes in an upright container but this means that the smaller applicator is getting crushed. I guess that I could have kept the little cover that it came with, but it was flimsy and so I ditched it (and I can't be bothered to keep them taking them on and off to be honest), also it doesn't fit into the bag provided. No biggie for me, but I think that their marketing dept. needs to think about little things like that?!
I would buy the product again, it is much much lighter than the balance 'n' brighten (which is too heavy for my skin type).

very nice for eliminating shine without residue
this is a wonderful tool for your make up bag! I especially love it mid-day as a foundation refresher. I apply it over my early morning make up application. It refreshes my face quickly and does not leave any heavy make up residue behind. Also, it is a wonderful quick fix tool if you apply too much eyeshadow. I love that it doesn't actually apply a layer of powder foundation. It is truly translucent yet miraculously evens out my ruddy skin tone. The brush s perfect for this tool and provides a very light almost feathery application. Get this product.

Not worth the money!
I have never had a problem with Laura`s products till now. Let me just say...the powder is awesome! Keeps my face matte all day long. The problem is the product runs out so fast! It only lasted a few weeks!! Also the brush is too soft! Its hard to put it on with such a flimsy brush. Laura please make this product last longer and I will be a happy girl!

Just okay
I have loved most all of LG products, but I have to say, this really isn't anything special. It just works okay, nothing to rave about. I think I'm better off returning it and getting something from the drugstore which will be much cheaper. Sorry Laura!

Loved it but can't use it
I loved this product but after having it for only a few weeks it broke into a thousand pieces inside the compact and is now unable to be used. It is unfortunate because they few chances I had to try it, I really liked the results but now I have an overpriced compact and brush set with no useful product. If you buy it, plan on leaving it at home because it doesn't hold up well with travel.

Beautiful Finishing Product
I was not disappointed in this powder. It is the final touch you want when done with your makeup and quickly brings you back if used during the day. All of Laura's make-up bags are great. I use the bag only for the product intended and maybe some lipstick or another blush. The packaging of the brush was so nice. It came with a plastic tube that fits over the top to keep the brush looking nice and I have kept this on when in the bag. The eye end also came with a plastic piece over to keep the hairs in place so great effort was taken by LG on this. All in all this is a super product that puts the final touch on your make-up. Laura never disappoints and I am happy to have found this. I was a former BE user and just love the LG products better.

Not great
I have ordered many of Laura's products and have loved every one of them - especially Balance & Brighten. So I was excited to get this. The first thing I noticed was that the bag was basically useless. It has velcro at the top that is about 1 inch wide (if that). So it leaves huge open spaces on either side. How is that supposed to hold anything? Also, it smushes the brush - so i's not even good for what it was intended. With regard to the brush, I hate it. What happened to Laura's former brushes? This synethic brush does not hold the product and just feels weird. It smells a little funky too. As for the powder, I can't tell a difference. Thirty minutes after I use it, I am shiny again. And I'm not even necessarily someone who has super shiny skin. I didn't return it. Instead, I use it as my final step. But I basically feel like I'm wasting my time.

I really like this powder. It makes my face look very finished. The only thing wish it came in the powder only. Dont need another bag or brush.

Matte Maker?
Does anyone know how this differs from the "matte maker" product that is included in Laura's New York Studio 6-piece collection? I thought they would be the same product, but the "matte maker" seems to do a better job of blending my makeup-- as a finishing touch-- than this, which I don't need on an already too dull/dry face!

Lovely Product
Love this product! Second time to purchase! Very sheer and leaves a lovely matt finish. I would like to be able to re-order just the powder w/o the bag...as it is still in good condition!
