This heater is styled to be a "baseboard" heater. This makes so much more sense than the "tower" style, when you think about it. The heat is distributed horizontally rather than vertically. When was the last time you had seen a home built with tower heaters? I haven't. But houses are built with electric baseboard registers ( in certain climates) all the time. This unit is silent and has a thermostat, you forget it's there! We use ours in a living room with a vaulted ceiling. Because heat rises, we find tuning the ceiling fan on the lowest speed helps to equalize the room's temperature adding about 5 degrees to the 15x15 foot room. Using this heater in a typical room with 8ft ceiling warms it much quicker and at lower settings. We've done both. Love this heater!
