KitchenAid RVSA Stand Mixer Rotor Slicer Shredder - White
Bought one of these but should have saved my money! Used it twice to grate cheese. First time was great! Second time it broke! Same type of cheese, same speed. Now it won't turn at all and I can't get the part out that holds the cones inside! Save your money & frustrations!.
Not what I was expecting
I bought this to go along with the new kitchenaid mixer I just purchased, but I am
disappointed. It is a hassle to get it on and a hassle getting it off and apart. The
shredder size of fine is too fine and the larger shredder is not thick enough, I would
not call it a grater. Stuff gets caught inbetween the cone and housing. I would rather
use a food processor with attachments. I thought this would save me time, but not.
So, I will send back and get a food processor.
kitchenAid RVSA Mixer Rotor Slicer Shredder
bought this for my kitchen aid mixer, doing alot of canning and food preparation so I knew this would be a great item to have on hand.
two tumbs down with this product.
there is too much wast with this product. there is too much room blade and housing you have a lot of wast.
Great for Cheese
I received this with my mixer as a promotional item. I love it. It is so much cheaper to buy cheese blocks and then shred it myself and with this you can do that. I love the 4 different cones so that you can get just the size that you want.
I also use the slicing cones for potatoes. I love that they all come out to the same size so that they cook the same.
I would recommend this to anyone with a Kitchenaid mixer.
My husband bought this for me when I saw another system that was about 10 times as much! Works fantastic. Great item. Can't say enough about this set. A+
You will USE this all the time!!
I have rheumatoid arthritis and of course it is in my hands. It is physically impossible for me to grate anything; cheese, vegetables, you name it, I can't hold it firmly enough to grate, not to mention the repetition is murder on my joints.
This attachment is wonderful! I can have 5 pounds of cheese grated to any size in 2 minutes or less. It actually takes longer to get the attachment out and attach it then it does to grate my cheese.
When I am finished, clean-up is a breeze. I put everything in the dishwasher and its ready for the next meal prep.
If you pay more for shredded cheese like we do in California, then a month's worth of paying a few dollars less and grating your own cheese at home will definitely pay off when you purchase this set of attachments.
I too was skeptical and thinking it would be complicated and it would just be easier to buy things shredded but their attachments are simple to attach and operate. Thoughtful clean-up has also been included in the designs and everything comes apart easily and stores in the original box in my pantry.
I mostly use it to shred but it does slice things well too. If you have your KitchenAid on your counter like me, then putting it to pratical use will be a breeze for you.
