Rated 1 out of 5 by from Chipped upon purchase! I just purchased this Kitchenaid Mixer (#K45SS) a week ago (just mailed my warranty card early yesterday) and was so excited to begin using it. I had all the ingredients for my first project ready to go. I washed all the accessories by hand, and that’s when I noticed there was already a chip of paint missing on this particular beater. I was disappointed to be sure. Looks like I’ll be needing to purchase a new beater from the start. I was making cookies this morning that are needed for later today (if I’d have had the time, I would have returned/exchanged the entire mixer)! Looking at all these reviews, I’m definitely not the only one. Kitchenaid - surely you can do better.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good product, but doesn't fit OLD models of K45SS Purchased this blade as a replacement for one that was lost during a move. We have a K45SS that was passed down from my parents (probably purchased sometime in the 70s), has worked great for 40 years, and still does with the whisk and dough hook. The issue with this product is that the rotating shaft of the mixer is too big for the hole of the paddle.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from chipping paint yummy I've had this mixer for years and it is super great, but the paint began chipping off of the beater about a year ago. For the price of these machines...that's poor form kitchen aid.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FITS MY 28 YEAR OLD KITCHENAID! SO HAPPY I've owned my KitchenAid mixer for 28 years and it works as good as the day I received it! My flat beater had lost a small portion of it's coating on the very tip that hits the bottom of the bowl a year ago and I kept forgetting to try and find a new one. When you had the kitchenaid on your tsv, you advertised this replacement beater and the gal said it would fit any KitchenAid mixer ever made, so I thought, okay, I'll try it, IT DOES AND I AM SO HAPPY!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from How about some chipped paint with those cookies? I love my KitchenAid mixer. I got it as a present from my husband and honestly, it has been wonderful with the exception of the paddle. It has chipped paint at the top and the bottom rendering it useless. I am really frustrated by it since the machine itself cost a small fortune. I should not have to replace the part!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Chipped off paint is hard to chew but has no real taste Yikes!! Third replacement paddle beater all because of chipping paint. We could put a man on the moon surely Kitchenaid can keep the paint on the paddle and not in my food! Come on Kitchenaid, fix it!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Chipping paint The paint has been chipping for a while, but now it is chipping more and more. I've had it fall in my batter! It looks like others on here have replaced theirs several times and had the same problems. Such an expensive product should have quality parts!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Coated beater chipping off in food I have had my Kitchen Aide mixer for a number of years and love everything about it EXCEPT the coated beater. I have replaced the beater twice, only hand wash it, and STILL the coating comes off and gets into the food. My brother found some in his mashed potatoes at a holiday gathering! It is difficult to find a replacement beater, as all of the ones in the stores are designed for newer model mixers. Please advise on how to remedy this problem.
