This Kitchen Aid hand mixer is delightful! An odd choice of adjective, but it is so easy to grab, plug and go without pulling out the stand mixer. Performance is great, cleanup is a breeze, and it easily fits back under the cabinet. The post asks 'Who would this be a perfect gift for?'. Cooks, non-cooks, busy moms and dad, juniors, or seniors (easy to assemble whisks and lightweight). Terrific colors too.

I have many KitchenAid appliances. Respect the brand. So when this mixer was presented I
didn't have many doubts about placing an order. I was looking forward to all the various
speed options, and, of course, the accompanying extras. Selected the deep berry color
(forget the fancy name they had applied . . . which is another topic I need to address. These
names are ridiculous. Who knows what "dove" or "sunlight" or any such color actually is?)
Anyway, once the first one arrived I rejected it out of hand. Actual color was not at all the
lovely color I had seen on my TV screen. So back it went and eventually a white replacement
arrived. My problem is with the actual buttons/levers/toggles on the handle. Yes, the subtle
multiple speeds are great. But the way the buttons are designed it takes two hands to start
the thing. First you must slide a switch and then you reach over the toggle and press a
recessed button to begin the speed selection. Two very different hand movements. Too many
diverse movements. My old KitchenAid mixer is a 5 speed and uses one button/lever. It's quick
and simple to use. And when I'm in the middle of preparing dinner after a long and hectic day
that's exactly what I'm looking for - a tool which is quick and easy to use . . . forget 9 subtle
steps, the highest of which seems slow to achieve. Even my KitchenAid stand mixer is preferable
and easier to use than this new hand model. And since all the beaters and accompanying
extras work with my old hand mixer (which is for once a nice design approach since upgrades
these days on anything seem to make the first model obsolete) I didn’t return the new mixer
and simply use the new implements with my old machine. Added the new accessories to my
drawer and put the actual mixer in the back of a bottom cupboard. Especially love the wire
beater for whipping cream or eggs. This is a case of the “new” complicating the “original."

I purchased this mixer and one side would not hold any of the attachments. I exchanged it for another one and the same thing happened.

This is a great hand mixer. It's easy to use and handle. I would recommend this to anyone.

I have had my Kitchen Aid Hand mixer three years now and I finally realized why I liked my old mixer better. Even though it runs smoothly and quietly there is not substance to the beaters. When it comes to whipping potatoes.it takes 5 times longer because the beaters are so thin that they are not able to actually whip potatoes. For the price it should come with a better set of beaters. It works fine for liquids but I need to pull out my KA stand mixer for more solid food..

For years I've gone back and forth over getting a stand mixer. I just don't use one enough to justify the expense, nor do I have the kitchen counter space (but oh, I've wanted one!!!). So when I saw this mixer, I jumped. It really is the best of both worlds: the power of a stand mixer and the portability/storage capability of a hand mixer. SO happy I made this purchase!!! (It's hard to recommend it as a gift - because not everyone likes getting kitchen appliances, which I can't imagine!)

the second best thing I've bought from QVC. From now on I'll stick to tried and true brands like this

I got this to replace a wolfgang puck mixer that I had that was just to heavy and clunky. This is great so far lightweight and easy to store. Wish it would have come with a storage pouch.
