Rated 1 out of 5 by from Takes too long to cook I bought the KitchenAid 6 qt. slow cooker as a Christmas gift for my wife. We used it for the first time today cooking a pot roast with veggies. After 9 hours on high the meat was still a bit tough and the veggies were not fully cooked. Our old slow cooker (25 years old) still cooks better that this one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from EVERYTHING IS UNDERCOOKED....TAKES FOREVER TO COOK This slow cooker comes with high reviews so took the plunge and purchased an expensive slow cooker to replace my old cheap one. Have been so disapointed in this one. It takes forever to cook anything....everything I cook is tough and underdone! Also, the seal around the lid is always coming off. Don't waste your money!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed I bought this based on recommendations from Cooks Illustrated. I’m not sure if the one I purchased is defective or if this is the nature of the equipment. If I follow the cook times in the recipes the food is still tough. I cooked a simple pot roast which usually only takes 6-8 hours. It took over 12 hours to get the meat slightly tender. I cooked a stew for 8 hours but the vegetables were still hard. I ended up finishing it on the stove, which defeats the purpose of the slow cooker. My old crockpot was less expensive than the kitchen aid and worked beautifully until it died after 10 years.
