Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE IT!! First one I've ever had! I got the KitchenAid Classic K45SSWH for an early Christmas gift. Love everything about. Came with a 4.5 qt stainless bowl. I am use to using a glass bowl with my hand mixer. I've been doing some reading/research I've found that a 5 qt glass bowl will fit my mixer, at least that's what I've read. I want a pouring shield that will fit the glass bowl, but most reviews are saying they aren't sure that there is one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too fragile After putting it through the dishwasher for the first time it just barely touched my granite counter top and a big part of the spout came off. I was shocked. It was the exterior part so I thought it was safe as long as I didn't use it to pour anything. After a little while longer I noticed a long crack down the bowl and I hardly ever used it. No idea how that even happened. This product is way too fragile. I was heartbroken. As a food writer and photographer, it was so great to capture light into the bowl but it is not worth it. This item should be recalled.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bowl accessory I have owned the glass bowl for my stand mixer for about 6 or 7 years. Not sure what happened with the others whose bowls broke but I have been very happy with mine, perhaps damaged in shipping or user error. Also, I am not sure how others over-tightened theirs. It is not required to be super tight, just enough to keep it from moving up and down, the threads will keep it from moving side to side. The plastic screw base does not need to be tightened too much as it needs to be removed for the dishwasher or microwave. The amount of light it lets in compared to the stainless steel bowl is nice and I prefer it for most mixing jobs. Except for whipping cream, etc, since the stainless freezes better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke very first day! Got the KitchenAid stand mixer as a gift from my mother - came with the glass bowl. Well it broke the very first day. The bottom broke inside the plastic ring that it comes with. There were tiny pieces of glass everywhere. Now looking more closely at the bowl I can see a small hairline crack in the side, came out of the box like that. I haven't even used it yet, was just setting it up to put on my counter. Will be calling customer service about a replacement, but so disappointed.
