K35792 - Key Ingredient 7" LCD Touch Screen Digital Recipe Reader 3.6 5 28 28
Watch Out - It will break your heart! I have now gone through TWO Recipe Readers. The first one died while I was using it (plugged in) and never came back to life. I returned it and got the second one in time for Thanksgiving Dinner, at which time the touch screen stopped working. Right in the middle of cooking dinner. Both incidents occurred within a month of the purchase date. It is a terrific idea but definitely not ready for prime time. 12-01-12
LOVE The NEW RECIPE READER I upgraded from the original Demy and love it. The WIFI capability is great! Must tell you that the first reader I received was defective. Called Key Ingredient Support and they determined that it was indeed defective, and I was not doing anything wrong. They sent me a new reader and paid for shipping for the return of the defective one. Heath, of tech support, helped me get going. He was GREAT! Agree with comments regarding the "instructions" that come with the Reader----definitely leave a lot to be desired and reason for only 4 stars. Also, do not find the FAQ's at the Key Ingredient website very helpful. For "touchy" screen prompts, I recommend re-calibrating. A hint from Heath that seems to help. Anyway, am REALLY impressed with Key Ingredient customer service and tech support. 11-08-12
Sending back I am returning this recipe reader for the following reasons. For the total price of $180+, I except the item to arrive with all the required components included....USB cable that I do not have. The instructions were one or two lines, childishly written, no help whatsoever. Please understand, I am very computer literate, but this item is a mess. Web site no help, just a rerun of the two line instructions. Maybe others can justify this waste of money but not me. 11-05-12
Nice Ideas/With Exceptions I really have not had this long enough to say a lot but so far I can use it pretty easy. I do think you should be able to delete any of the stored recipes that you do not want which would shorten the list of available recipes one might use. It is also very difficult to roll the screen up and down without opening the recipes that your finger touches. Overall, I like this product but wish a few software changes could be done to make it even easier to scroll the screen and delete unwanted prestored recipes. 11-05-12
Handy gadget I've had the Demy reader for several years now and love it. When I found out the the new Recipe Reader had Wi-Fi capabilities, I had to own one. The reasonable price was very tempting too. The screen on this new model seems to be brighter and page turning and selection is faster. Of course my favorite feature is the Wi-Fi. I no longer have to hook up to my PC. Thanks Key Ingredient. 11-04-12
Nifty Item I was a bit worried about purchasing this based on past reviews, but because it was on EasyPay, I decided to give it a try. There are more benefits to disadvantages. I'll start with two bad points I've noticed immediately. Scrolling the screen is often difficult, and mine frequently gets stuck, but I'm used to this with my Driod, unfortunately. Also, I can only seem to erase all of the pre-loaded recipes, instead of just the ones I don't want, which is strange. The cookmark feature is great; I've got it on all the computers I use. As for the USB cord, I need one too, and, like others, heard from Heath (a very quick and courteous response) that one is being sent out right away. Once you learn how to sync, it's easy to do and you can set the device to sync automatically. I also love having all my internet recipes in one place now. I can also now easily share my favorite recipes with others who I "friend" to my Key Ingredient account. It might be a bit high of a price for an item such as this, but as long as nothing goes wrong with the unit, I'll be happy. 10-29-12
Key Ingredient Recipe Reader I initially had problems with the touch screen working, and had to replace my unit. I worked with Heath from Key Ingredient directly and he was extremely helpful. He made sure I got a working unit, and was readily available to coach me in how to navigate my way through getting things up and running. Was very easy, and I am really enjoying all the features. Especially love that I can "cookmark" any recipe from any website and with a click can send it to my reader, either to my library or I can create a new cookbook and send it there. Works seamlessly. Like the cookbook feature. Its also nice to be able to store your own personal recipes in the reader, and know that they are safe and accessible. I recommend this to anyone who loves to cook, and wants to have new inspiration. The key ingredient website has over a million recipes. It's really handy to use next to you when you cook, and takes up much less space than a cookbook or laptop. 10-26-12
Easy to use I had my recipe reader up and running 10min after it was delivered by UPS. I entered some recipes on the website before I ordered my reader. Every time I turn on my recipe reader any recipes I added to the website will appear automatically. Nothing to do. Just turn it on. Finally getting rid of all those little scraps of paper and magazines. I love my recipe reader. 10-25-12
Too Confusing!! Sent it back not worth the money just for recipes. Did not get a usb cable with the product?? For the price it should come with everything you need! Will use my Ipad! Still love QVC and David Venable :) 10-21-12
Good & Easy to Use I love my Digital Recipe Reader. It is handy and can be used in the kitchen without fear of it getting ruin. It iso much better than taking your computer Laptop in the kitchen. 10-18-12

Love Love Love Like others had a problem with wifi. Was going to send back, but worked with the Key Ingredient Heath , was friendly and worked with me for a week, finally realized that it was a wifi card in unit that was damaged. He sent me a new one and I received new unit in 2 days. Had it started in minutes. Works fast and easy. Glad I didn't send it back for a refund . Very pleased with the purchase . Would recommend to every cook. Thank you 10-13-12
