K3466 - Keep it Fresh Vacuum Seal Food Storage Box
I ordered this 6 mos ago and have been putting it through the test!! It has passed with flying colors. I have managed to get alot of extra time with my bread and patries using this.
It is not all that noisy, and any noise that it has is when it is actually vacume sealing not unlike the food saver.
I put bread sticks from a popular pizza place in it and they remained soft and edible for a week. That says alot.
I bought this from the TV show presentation and didn't bother to read customer reviews. I wish I had. It never worked well and after a couple of months, quit on me entirely. Of course, too late to return it. Save your money on this one.
At first I thought this was fantastic - I had bagels in there that stayed so soft I couldn't believe it. Then I put a loaf of bread in there and noticed within a couple days white spots and then opened it to check it out and the smell about made me sick! I threw out the bread and tried one more time with the same results. It's definitely going back.
I Loved the machine idea if it would have worked. It constantly ran and bread molded in 3 days. I will stick with Lock & Lock Sue in N.C.
Best thing since sliced bread :)
I was always giving my husband dried out stale bread. It was just the two of us and I don't eat bread. Poor thing never complained. I've had mine for about a year now. Love it. It keeps the bread soft and moist. Granted you can't over pack it, and you have to make sure the rubber seal is cleaned and there is no plastic left on the seal. I vacuum out the air and as long as I don't open it, it doesn't cycle again. Oh, and you can even take the bread out of the plastic wrapper..it isn't necessary for keeping the bread fresh..I have recommended to several people, because it beats the options.
I purchased this and thought it would be great, but when recieved it , I COULDNT get the lid to open! Tryed and tryed...... Very frustrating! Sent it back, and it was too large for the counter , need alot of space. Sorry QVC!
IF you can get lid to seal correctly, it works. But 9 times out of 10 it runs and runs. Its loud and annoying. I keep going back to it, reopening it and try to figure out why its not sealing. It has a flimsey plastic closure and I had to write a review on this product to save someone from making the same poor choice.
Enjoyed it while it lasted
I orginally ordered this product 10/06. W/in the first couple of weeks I noticed that my bread smelled as if it was fermenting. Contacted manufacturer, they dropped the ball never got back in touch w/me. I figured out what was wrong and really didn't have a problem w/it until it just quit on me the other day. Thought about purchasing another one then I decided no I'll keep by bread in the refrigerator from now on. Sorry QVC!!!
Not worth the $$$
I purchased this unit after watching a demonstration on qvc thinking it would be great for produce, especially during the summer when it's much warmer. I put a few bananas and half a loaf of bread in and was very disappointed to see all of the condensation had gathered on the lid the next morning, not to mention my bread now smelt of bananas. Expected more, it's going back. Takes up quite a bit of counter space as well, so if your already limited and don't have an extra power outlet, you will be disappointed.
Best Purchase I could ever get
I have two of these...need one for bread and one for rolls etc. I wouldn't mind having one for fruit to see if it would work for that. Am single and would not be without it...Yes I agree it is a little small "width wise" but once you know how to work it...it is unbelievable how much fresher and how much longer bread, rolls etc stay..Visitors constantly are asking about it and point out what a help that would be for them. You just have to take the time to find out what the proper way of working with it is.
A Very Helpful Gadget
After my husband passed, I had a big adjustment about grocery shopping and storage of purchases. I saw this item on one of Bob's shows and decided to try it because I was throwing away a huge amount of bread. The bread keeper is great. I can buy the kind of bread I like, even though it comes in large size only. It stays fresh for a long time after the date on the packaging.
Works if you don't over stuff it...
This works great for me. It took a while to figure out how to pack it correctly. If you allow anything to cover the vent, it will continuously trigger the motor and make a lot of noise. Now that I realize how to store the bread on the other side, it's been terrific. I would say that the only draw back is that I need two units to store sliced bread, rolls, and bagels and I was hoping that I could fit all of that into one unit. And they do take up a lot fo counterspace. Besides that, I am really glad that I got it.
