Why is the Sleeping Beauty Turquoise almost free of matrix or markings in the stone?
For Sleeping Beauty Turquoise, we closely monitor the range of blue color and the level of mottling, matrix and markings we will accept. Sleeping Beauty Turquoise can have all of these markings in the stone, but QVC currently accepts only Sleeping Beauty Turquoise that is free of markings.

What is matrix?
Turquoise deposits usually form in iron-rich host rock which tends to create dark brown or tan markings called matrix.

Where is Turquoise mined?
Turquoise is found in only a few places on earth: dry and barren regions where acidic, copper-rich groundwater seeps downward and reacts with minerals that contain phosphorus and aluminum. Some areas that most of the turquoise has been mined: Arizona, Mexico and China. Sleeping Beauty Turquoise is from the Sleeping Beauty mine outside Globe, Arizona. The mine got its name because the mountain where it is mined resembles a sleeping woman laying on her back with her arms crossed.

How can we continue to sell Sleeping Beauty Turquoise if the mine is closed?
QVC suppliers have acquired large quantities of rough turquoise when they learned the mine was closing. We have been using these lots of Sleeping Beauty Turquoise for our jewelry.

The Sleeping Beauty mine is currently closed and, at this time, there is no new production of the Sleeping Beauty stones.

J145089 - Judith Ripka Sterling Turquoise Cabochon Link Bracelet 4.2 5 88 88
great bracelet I purchased this bracelet at the LTS price and wow what a beautiful bracelet for the money! I have a very small wrist and wear between a 6 3/4 and 7 inch bracelet depending on how chunky the bracelet is. It fit perfectly, with just the right drop. The color of the turquoise is outstanding, well matched stones and beautiful with the diamonique barrels. It was a gift for my very special birthday! Thanks Judith, I just love, love, love your jewelry! 02-14-13
Beautiful bracelet Just received and I'm thrilled with this bracelet, glad to add it to my ripka collection. The turquoise stones are robins egg blue with no veining, extremely well made. It fits like her other bracelets in a small. My wrist is just under 5 3/4 and I have plenty of room. So glad she offers her bracelets in a small. 02-08-13
This Bracelet is Soooo Pretty! I just received my bracelet, having ordered it last Sunday when it was a Lunchtime Special, and boy, did I get a deal on this! I have several Judith Ripka earrings and rings, this is my first bracelet from her line. It's beautiful! It's weighty, striking, and very well made. No problems with the toggle, and the smaller length is perfect for me. The color of the turquoise stones is gorgeous....as most others have said, almost a Sleeping Beauty-caliber of turquoise. I can't stop looking at it. Very pleased with this purchase, especially at the Lunchtime Special price!! 02-08-13
Runs shorter on wrist.... The 6 3/4 runs shorter on the wrist because the round turquoise/SS cabs take up space so beware. I have a 5 3/4" wrist and the 6 3/4 just did meet (close with the toggle which is small for an exxpensive bracelet). 01-01-13
Lovely! My bracelet is very pretty and I've had no problems like some of the other reviewers. I have the small size and it fit a little too snuggly for me, not enough drape, so I added Barbara Bixby's sterling connector link, J309168, to the circle of the toggle clasp and voila! it fits perfectly now, just the right amount of drape. And the clasp works fine with the link added to it. Again, a very lovely bracelet. 12-12-12
I may be one of the lucky ones... I may be one of the lucky ones who hasn't had any issues with this bracelet.. I ordered the medium (7-1/4") and it fits fine. My wrist measures 6-7/8". I so enjoy this peice. Turquoise is a favorite of mine, and this is flirty, weighty and beautifully presented! I also haven't had issues with any of the cabochons coming loose/falling out, nor difficulties with the toggle closure...yet. Having said this, I have had 3 different JR necklaces break. So, I just may be having luck with this purchase. I do love this piece! I hope you enjoy your piece as much as I enjoy having/wearing mine! 10-26-12
Too Pricey I generally love Judith's designs but frankly this bracelet just does not justify the price even on sale. The construction seems cheaply done. This is going back. still a loyal fan though 10-07-12
Work of Art INDEED! This is a stunning work of art. Playful, classy and unique. I have never seen one and I'm a proud new owner of this bracelet. It is sterling silver at its best. Substantial weight and very sharp 09-08-12
Great Bracelet! I ordered this bracelet on the auto-delivery plan for the TSV years ago. The quality of the turquoise stones is exceptional. This is a fun piece - not too serious, and definitely not junk jewelry. Get it while you can. 07-22-12
Great Look! The color of stones is perfect! Just enough diamonique and the drop adds the designer touch. I like the toggle closure. It does run small. I had to order the large and all other JR bracelets ordered are average. I ordered the Monaco turquoise ring and receive compliments every time I wear them. Order larger size or have link added. 07-17-12
GREAT QUALITY BUT WATCH SIZING This is a very pretty bracelet and the quality is the same as Judith's higher end silver pieces. However, the sizing in the description is not correct. I ordered the 7 1/4 inch bracelet and it is tight on my 61/2 inch wrist. My bracelet measures 7 1/4 long. The description says the 6 3/4 measures 7 1/4. Very confusing. For a 6 1/2 inch wrist, the 7 1/2 inch bracelet would be the one to buy. 05-29-12
VERY DISSAPOINTED I too have a Cabachon that fell out of my bracelet. After reading some of the reviews I found I was not the only one with a bracelet that had this problem. It took something away from the beauty of it. 04-28-12
