Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Gorgeous Beetle This was a gift for my mom. She loves bug pins and has many from Joan. This is different, well made, interesting and really is an impressive gift.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not sure it's "new" but it is BEAUTIFUL I have this pin from many years ago. The stone was then described as a moonstone, as other reviewers have mentioned it resembled more than an opal. But I'm so glad that it has been brought back so that others might have a chance to purchase such an unusual and elegant piece with so much history behind it. Thank you, David!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quite Adorable This pin is a nice size. Not too large or small. Mine had a tiny little flaw in the middle stone so I have sent it back to be replaced. Otherwise, I am happy with it and hope the replacement is in perfect order. David, you're dong a great with Joan's line. Appreciate you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Large and dramatic This is a beautiful pin. The opalescent body is beautiful and all stones are well-set. This will be a dramatic accessory on coats, jackets, and closing buttonless cardigans - can’t wait to wear him.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from F A B U L O U S !!!!!!! This pin is so unique......knowing it is a replica of a Russian piece from the 1890's, I can picture Joan's face when they showed her this pin. David said she bought it right on the spot. I did too!!! Yes, the simulated opal looks like a moonstone but it is so beautiful and unique and I bought it to wear on a black boucle' cap that I wear sometimes with a fancy dress or jeans and a jacket. I am not a fan of beetles, usually......but I loved Joan Rivers and all of the magical jokes and uplifting spirit she added to this world. So Joan, dear angel, look for me wearing your pin around town......I will think of you when I wear it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Just received my Beetle brooch today and it is a beauty. I agree with that the stone resembles a moon stone rather than an opal, but it is still lovely just the same. The color combination is wonderful and the pin wasn't made too dark. However, I have only one negative comment and that is, that I wished the stick was longer, as shown in the original pin. I can't wait to wear my pin. I loved Joan and all her jewelry and I will continue to buy more from her private collection. Twinny

Rated 4 out of 5 by from "Opal" Looks More Like Moon Stone The design and execution of this pin is of a high caliber. That said, in no way would I mistake the large stone for an opal. It passes for a moonstone, and I do like it very much. I especially like the clasp. The pieces in this collection are classic and well made, as is this one, which is why I keep coming back for additional purchases.
