J262359 - Joan Rivers Peach Mosaic Dragonfly Pin
I have this same pin in the other colors and they look totally different. I you have ever being in Barcelona and are familiar with Gaudi's architecture you would love this master piece.
Bravo Ms Rivers you are so talented that I know in advance that there will be no faux pas in your creations.
Dragonflies and Duos
Several months agon, I purchased the Joan Rivers Blue Mosaic Dragnofly and I was so glad I did! It is a sizeable pin, but sometimes you just feel like making a statement and it was the perfect size for a coat, sweater, or scarf. I couldn't get over how lovely it was and how affordable it was (for one of Joan Rivers' pins).
So, when I saw that there was a peach dragonfly pin, I purchased it as soon as I could. It is beautiful...in fact, I may like it a little better than the blue one (but don't tell the first pin). The colors are beautiful and not the same as most of the other jewelry I seem to collect in blues, pinks, or purples. It is truly a work of art. I would encourage anyone who is thinking about getting this pin to "take the plunge." You won't regret making this purchase. Both pins are beautiful and, on the right coat or nice fluffy sweater, I could see both of them placed as a pair - at least you know you'll get comments!
On air, this was beautiful...but, in person, I was stunned. The colors are intense and have that iridescence that defines a dragonfly's wings. Well done! Even my husband agreed that it was beautiful and he actually took the time to examine it closely. I agree that it is a large pin, but, I will simply look at it and enjoy the art of it until I find THE OUTFIT that it will complement. Thank you Joan!
A Dragonfly for all seasons
Dear Joan Rivers, I love your jewelry and I love you! I now own both of your dragonfly pins. the pastel blue/pink one I have named "Spring" and I just received the peach one that I have called "Fall". What I would like you to make is a dragonfly for "Summer" and one for "Winter" so I can have a complete set. For summer, I would suggest colors of turquise, coral, yellow or maybe lime green. For winter, bright red and green and white with maybe some touches of black. I agree that the pins are quite large, but I have them sitting on a glass tray on my vanity and they make me smile every time I look at them. They are simply beautiful!!
Pretty, but too large for me
I own tons of Joan's jewelry and have a beautiful dragonfly pin that she offered a few years ago. Being a small-framed woman, this pin seemed too wide for me. Although it looked lovely on all the models, sometimes I believe a larger woman can carry off more substantial pieces of jewelry.
While I am sorry to add this last bit, I did not find this pin to look as dimensional as some of Joan's other critter pins.
Found this to be very boring and cheap looking; especially for the high price. The "mosaic" design was covered with a clear acrylic-looking coating similar to collector pins from convention shows. Disappointing. Going back.
This pin is breathtaking. It was a bit expensive for me, but when I got it I felt it was worth every penny. My husband takes photos of dragonflies, and this pin is every bit as beautiful as the real ones are.
This is the most realistic dragonfly pin I have seen done. I love the colors, and the beautiful stones. The detail to the anteanna, eyes, head are perfect. The body detail with the "u" hook at the end of the tail is just like the real thing. I missed out on the "Buzzing Bumble Bee" and I so regret that. It is the most realistic Bee I have ever seen as well. I really like the realistic look. Maybe the bumble bee will come back sometime. But for now, this dragonfly is superior to any I have seen. Love it!
I have become a pin person since becoming a QVC customer.
Joan Rivers makes the best pins, and they are always eye catching.
This one is so very pretty, and the mosaic work is lovely.
Another pin to add to my growing collection.
Enamelling - Beautiful; Stones - Not
As with all Joan's enamelled pieces, the workmanship is gorgeous. As is the design of this brooch. My problem is with the stones. To me, aurora borealis stones cheapen any look, and this pin has them in prominent places. Not all the stones are AB, but those that are are immediately seen. This is probably a matter of personal taste, but with enameling and a design this gorgeous, I would've preferred plain stones without the AB coating.
I'n not a big pin person...but I like the colors. I'm taking it to my jeweler to add a hoop so I can wear it as a necklace. In the future, it would be nice to make certain pins with an enhancer so you have the option.
1ST I HAD THE BLUE DRAGONFLY AND I LOVE IT.. I HAD TO HAVE THIS NEW ONE.. I DONT KNOW WITCH ONE I LIKE BETTER SO I AM GLAD TO HAVE THEM BOTH..
