Joan Rivers Floral Print Short Belted Trench
Love The Trench Jacket
This is my first Joan Rivers clothing purchase and I love this trench. I purchased it in gray and the print is beautiful. I have received many compliments and the medium is a great fit.
Size is not true-to-size
I have two other Joan Rivers size 2x trench coats. I just received one about a month ago--perfect fit and beautiful fabric.
I order the turquoise flowered trench coat and was shocked at how the sizing was so far off. It was like a size 16. Fabric was cheap and rough. Returned immediately.
I wonder if Ms. Rivers has any idea when bad merchandise is mailed out.
Purchased the pink and the blue in an XS. The colors of the print are such a pretty pastel color for a light weight jacket for spring or summer. I liked the fabric though maybe some stretch would of been nice to add to it. The down fall was the belt. Way to long and get rid of that slide buckle because it does not hold closed , so I cut it off and serged the end and use it as a tie belt. Also noticed the belt loops were placed a little higher than your natural waist, more for a shorter torso than a longer one of 5'8". Other than that it is a nice light weight jacket.
Love Love Love
I received this jacket a few days ago and it is more than I could have expected. I was a little apprehensive because of the negative reviews, but you really have to make your mind up yourself. I absolutely love it! I love the material it has a little shimmer to it but certainly not shiny. The perfect spring weight. I got the grey and it is the perfect neutral, great for wearing to work or just around town. The fit is perfect, size large for me which I usually buy at 5'6" and 150 lbs. I love that it is shorter than a traditional trench but still has style. The belt does as it should, designed to tie in a knot or bow as they demonstrated on tv, not intended to work like a normal belt...this is the design. Or you can tie it in back which is what I like. Great job Joan! I am very happy I decided to purchase this . I will look very put together and chic around town this season and am tickled that I received it in time to go out of town this weekend.
This was my first Joan clothing purchase. The jacket is a perfect fit at an xxs. The belt loops are exactly where they should be and I love the side pockets. I also love the yoke in the back. I'm not crazy about the fabric as many ladies have mentioned but it doesn't bother me that much. Hence the four stars. I live in Los Angeles, and it's been cool here lately so I think I can find a few opportunities to wear it before summer. The blue color is so pretty. I will buy another Joan trench.
Not Outerwear, Not Lined, Boxy
I was excited about this - but disappointed!
It is not lined,
Cut more like a big shirt,
Fabric doesn't feel like outerwear,
and was much too large (Ordered my usual size)
The belt around the waist and sleeves are strangely long.
I usually find Joan Rivers' clothes should only be marketed to petites, But this one was just large and boxy.
Received this jacket but notice that Joan Rivers sizing is tighter than other designers..nice style and very well made..fabric could use more substance, a little soft..anxious to try a JR jacket in my correct size..
I ordered the gray. The print and color were nice - hence the 3 stars. I wanted to love this, but unfortunately, It goes downhill from there. Similar to other reviewers, I did not prefer the fabric. However, the biggest problem for me, (ordering a small) is that I could have wrapped the belt around my waist 6 times! Belt was WAY too long. Not very cute...sending it back.
Cool looking, but
I like the way this looks, but I don't like the material. Maybe without the polyester or not as much it would be a keeper. Maybe we could get this made in the USA?!
I was disappointed when I opened this package. This looked so cute on the model on air.
I'm very surprised with the positive reviews. To each her own, I guess. This is definitely not for me. The fabric is very strange and doesn't have that drape that I expect from outerwear. The fact that there is no lining is another negative for me - this trench sticks to my clothing. This seems to me like a very boxy big shirt, and is not flattering on me at all. This has to go back.
This Trench Rocks!
This is my first Joan Rivers jacket purchase, but it won't be my last! This trench has it all: style with the large floral print, roomy side slit pockets, a figure flattering design whether belted or open, and it's machine washable on top of that. I thought the material would be stiff, but it's soft and pliable with texture. It's not lined, but it will keep a chill at bay. I'm very pleased with the amount of detail (i.e. inside buttons, the top hook if you want to close it all the way, button holes on the outside of the pocket, etc.). Good job, Joan.
Bryond My Greatest Expectations!!
When I saw this during the presentation I was drawn to the pink as it was so feminine and I wanted to try something different and step out of the box. I put the S & M in my cart as I was not sure of her sizing and the pink was selling out. But after reading the reviews I had mixed feelings, but went ahead and ordered it anyway. Quite a few said the belt loops were too high or that the material was stiff. Well let me tell you, this was not the case for me. I am a regular build, not short or long waisted and the belt loops were placed exactly where they should be, just like every other belted coat I own. Second, the material was so soft and not stiff at all and had a very slight sheen to it. The color was fabulous and I stuck with the M as the S was a little tight accross my chest and it is a jacket not a sweater so it should not fit so close to the body. I love this jacket and am so glad I did not cancel. I love it so much, the cut, the length, the femininity, that I just ordered the turquoise after seeing the model Rebecca wearing it, and I am also a redhead. Fabulous!!!!!!
