Joan Rivers Button Front Cape with Tie Belt
Love it, Love it, Love it!!!
I just received this cape today and its a winner! Its quite slimming as the tie belt doesn't go all around the back of the cape, allowing it to swing free. Its only belted in the front part of the garment so one doesn't look like a stuffed sausage. I am a 1X and it fit perfectly. This is going to look fabulous with a simple long sleeve turtleneck sweater. Its going to be perfect for fall weather, as its not too heavy, but warm enough for when the chill sets in. Every piece that I have received from the Joan Rivers line has been fabulous. I bought this cape in the camel, and am going back for the black.
This piece has style and a simple way to add some drama to the wardrobe. A very classy look.
I bought this cape in tweed when it first was aired. I love it. It covers my rear which is wide & it's so comfortable. I get many compliments when I wear it. I love to dress different & I don't see myself coming & going in this.
It fits well, it's well made and it's a nice change from a basic winter or fall jacket.
This cape is designed well and looks nice. However, it is made of a very heavy felt material that I do not like at all -- it cheapens the look and does not feel good. Also, there is no lining, which at this point, one would expect. That means the seams are visible and the ones on this coat were uneven and bulky. Going back.
AMAZING! Love Joan's capes
Amazing. So comfortable. I feel so classy in this.
received in the wheat color which is beautiful. it is very dressy and soft (not stiff
at all. very nice quality material. felt the weight was just right. great price. i would
recommend this cape to anyone not just for families. i like how you
can still machine wash. i am debating whether to go up a size
due to the cape being a tad tight in the back across the shoulder blades.
has anyone washed their cape yet? if so, has anyone had any shrinkage?
Lovely, thick and warm. This makes any outfit look very put together. My only complaint is that the side slits for the part that covers your arms are not cut high enough, making it difficult to lift your arms up without pulling up the whole piece. But that is the price you pay for this tailored look. If you want less restricted freedom of movement you need a fuller cape.
The quality and feel of this material is superb! Even prettier in person than it appeared on TV. Classic! I'll wear this forever!
I purchased XS (even though I usually wear XXS) but it fit great anyhow. I ordered the wine color since I am a brunette and I like it alot. Material is a thick felt so I've worn it over a fleece top on a day when the weather was in the 40s, or over a cotton top when in the 50s. Very versatile, easy to wear, and elegant. Nice job!
Perfect but Order Down 1 or 2 SIZES
I love this cape but in my opinion, to get the best fit you have to order 1 to 2 sizes down. I am an X-large with a pear shape which means I am smaller in the top half and heavier at the bottom. TO find your best fit read the measurements. The main thing is the length. Capes can be tricky but I have learned to go down 1 or 2 sizes in all capes. Capes are full voluminous items which can make you look bigger.
If I had ordered my regular size, the item would be too full like a blanket and make me look BIGGER. Because this item has no sleeves you don't have to worry about the arm fitting. SO the main thing is that the cape drapes over your shoulders and that is guaranteed to fit. In the front the sides are open,so this means no matter how wide your hips are the middle panel will cover the front of your body. You will have space on the sides but that is wear your arms are located so it will not matter. The goal is getting the most flattering fit. The fabric is warm and can be worn as a jacket in say 50 degress and up in a car, and it can be worn as a indoor jacket in the office.
and you put the belt around your waist from the inside of the cape. Joan makes her belts long so the belt will wrap around. I find this item more flattering when it is not too big. The fabric is like a felt and it seems to be warm.
Very nice..looks alot more expensive. You will look effortlessly put together.
I wore this today for the first time because it's starting to get chilly here in NYC so I wore this lovely cape over my blazer. First, I love the fabric, very soft and cozy and pliable so that it kind of drapes over your body as opposed being a rough, stiff fabric. I'm a size 4, 5' 4" and busty and I found this cape, not only extremely stylish, bit very figure flattering, AND, best thing, it has great pockets for your metro card, etc. Bottom line, just perfect!! Another JR winner in my opinion. Thanks very much, Joan!!
