Joan Rivers Beauty Right to Bare Legs Corrective Cover Up
Only problem, I have to mix fair color w/next darker color for a better match of my skin tone. Fair too light, medium too dark. Very good cover. Use on top of hands, but careful it will wash off.
It is really great...
I have used all kinds of this stuff...from self tanners to leg paints at all costs. This is great. Not a big JR fan so it took me a while to get around to it. When I saw it show up as a recommended product in some pretty respectable magazines...I thought "why not" the return policy at QVC is good. No return on this one and ordered 2 more. And the reason is: Does not wash off unless you want it to; easy to apply and dries fast, looks natural you can even put a little lotion on OVER it if it looks dry (however it doesn't look dry unless you over do).; I don't have to have white legs or wear nylons. Caution: It dries fast, wet your hands to apply; I mix the medium and tan to get "my" color, After it dries I lightly buff my legs for consistency and avoid rub off. Confession: I have used it in place of make up and it worked.
I ordered the medium color. I have a slight olive or yellow-tone skin color. The medium has a strong pink undertone and makes my leg look like a Barbie doll. I think it covered very well and the staying power was great, but the color issue is why I'm returning it. Please Joan, make some yellow undertone colored product.
Great for legs!
This product has a learning curve. You absolutely MUST moisturizer before using and DON'T use too much! Squeeze a little into your hand, rub hands together and apply quickly to bottom half of leg and foot. Rub in evenly. If you miss a spot, put on a LITTLE more. If it looks fake, you're using too much. This should give a smooth look with a little color. Be sure to wait more than 10 minutes to dress. But, it still does rub off a bit onto clothes but once it's set, it's set until you wash with soap and water! I absolutely love it! Only reason for 4 stars is the rub off factor. Oh, by the way, I got this at Boscov's for $1.99. Well worth trying.
This product leaves my legs looking dry. I exfoliated and used a cream prior to applying which helped. I love Joan Rivers products however, this one is just o.k. not great
Just ordered another tube. The medium blends with my skin tone almost perfectly! If you are worried abut rub off, just let it set a bit after applying and wipe over it lightly with a paper towel or something.
sorry not good
I tried your product Joan sorry it did not cover my veins. I tried med.an I'm fair skinned. Love your other products. When I used the product it looks like I have make up on my legs. Please try to improve product, I need something that works my legs are bad.
I purchased the "fair" and it did not cover as well as I thought. However, I have a lot of "purple" to cover. My legs looked better with the cover than without, so I tried the "medium". This covered better and gave my legs a tanned look which I am ok with. Although the purple is not gone, it looks 100% better. Thanks, Joan! It's a hit with me!
I'm giving this product four stars because I'm still getting used to applying it. I must say, I love the way it makes my legs look.
Did not work at all.
This product advertised it would hide completely tattoos as well as the imperfections on the legs. I tried it and it was not at all what they advertised. I buy from QVC often but this disappoints!
I followed directions to moisturize legs first and as another reviewer said to blend out product with slightly damp fingers. It worked well on my legs almost completely covering blue veins and darker spots. I ordered the fair and medium. The fair was too light for me and the medium was better but I am going to order the dark to compare colors, and to blend them for a more perfect color. I am light to medium complexioned but currently have a little tan on my legs. I did think the final results were good but my legs had a slight whiteish tint so I hope the darker color will be more saturated tan color on my legs. I don't see that this will work for ladies of color unless lighter skinned.
It Works for Me!
I am surprised at the number of reviews that scored down b/c of the sponge at the end of the tube, or it is too thick to apply. I took the sponge off the tube and wish it was not there. That might bring down the price of the product a few cents.
In the presentation moisturizer was recommended. When I add moisturizer to any product, I find that keeps it from completely drying which increases the likelihood of being rubbed off. I add a little water, then it can completely dry which increases the adhesion to my skin. If I need moisturizer, I apply that before putting on the cover up.
This product reminds me of the discontinued Sexy Legs by Sheercover which I loved. The only problem with Sexy Legs is that the Light was a little dark on me. I got light in Right to Bare Legs the first time. It is lighter than the light of SL so I mix them to get a better shade for me. Light in RTBL is too light, so I got M to mix for a better shade for me when SL was gone. I am surprised at the frustration when one shade does not match a person when one thinks about the endless shades represented in people. Just get two shades and mix. I am sure if they came out with 10 shades, the cost would increase. I am just glad they make this at this price. There are other more expensive products that I personally do not find work as well (and cheaper versions).
I've tried sponges and brushes for application, but find my hand works better than any of them. I have damp hands when I put the cream on my hands and start with a small amount. I can always add. If it looks too heavy, I put my hand under running water, shake it off a little, then go over the area until it is to my liking. It takes just a little moisture.
It stays all day and into the next day. If it is dry, I have never had it stain any clothing, towels, or sheets.
It is the next best thing to wearing hose. Hose will smooth out one's legs due to the compression. Since there is no compression wearing RTBL, any veins, or other bumps are still there, but do show nearly as much.
I have spider veins that have spread through the years just above and below my knees in the back and sides. This completely covers them - -I would say even better than nude hose. I spread it down the tops of my feet for even coloring unless wearing athletic shoes or other shoes that completely cover the top of my feet.
It is the best product like this I've tried. I am so glad they make it and that QVC carries it. I feel better about my legs when wearing shorts or capri's, when I would never wear hose in the first place, than when I was in my 20's.
