This stains really easily and once it does you cannot soak it in water. You must bake it for an hour on 500 degrees before use. I cannot stand to place a pizza on it after it stains, yuk. My crust was a little soggy, not crisp and firm. I threw the stone away once all of the pizza sauce stained it and kept the rack and cutter.
