InsideQ: Which pieces from your collection would be perfect for holiday events?
Susan: While decorating my home and getting ready for the holidays, I dress in something casual and comfortable. I often wear my favorite jeans (A220137) or my Slim Leg Ponte Knit Pants (A216933) paired with my Essential Bateau Neck Top (A198716) or Liquid Knit® Essential Top (A212038). When hosting a party, I dress comfortably, but a bit more dressed up. My favorite stylish comfort outfit is my Maxi Skirt (A224326) paired with my Liquid Knit Surplice Top ( A224858 or A226130 ) . New Year's Eve is the time I like to let down my hair and show my wild side, so I wear something with pizzazz. I love my Velvet Slim Pants (A219049) or Knit Leggings with Zippers and Rhinestones (A209582) paired with my Charmeuse Big Shirt (A210863) or Velvet Trimmed Tunic (A219762) . I also love my Velvet Dress (A219050) with sexy shoes and bold, chunky jewelry.
InsideQ: How are Michael, David, and Jaclyn?
Susan: I am blessed with three wonderful children who are now young adults. Michael is the oldest and is engaged to Alli with plans to marry in June. David is the middle—he's engaged to Christine and getting married this April. Jaclyn is the youngest and has been dating Kevin for a few years. My children and my husband, Rich, are the wind beneath my wings. They are my life, love, and inspiration. I'm so very proud of them.
InsideQ: What can we expect to see in your collection this spring?
Susan: My design collection is always evolving and expanding. I'm in the process of finalizing my next spring collection. In keeping with my vision for pieces that are easy to wear and care for, I've added new cotton blends, dresses, and skirts, and I've updated many of your all-time favorites. The colors I chose for next spring are bright, vivid, and always cheerful!
InsideQ: What would you never be caught wearing?
Susan: I like to dress comfortably in easy, relaxed pieces. Although I enjoy wearing prints, you will never see me pattern mixing. I don't wear anything stuffy, uptight, or too preppy. I don't wear pieces that are too big and oversized—too much volume for me. I prefer designs that show the lines of the body. I believe a woman should embrace her curves. Every woman is beautiful!
InsideQ: How long does it take you to get dressed in the morning?
Susan: It usually takes me a half hour to dress and do my makeup in the morning. I don't like to fuss and prefer to spend my morning enjoying a cup of coffee (preferably outdoors listening to the birds chirping) and eating a good breakfast (my favorite meal of the day). I value the precious "me time" before the phone rings, emails arrive, and my jam-packed day begins.
InsideQ: Early style influencer?
Susan: My earliest style influences were Twiggy, Goldie Hawn in Laugh-In, Indonesian-influenced embroidered tops, halter tops, hip-hugger jeans, wide bell-bottoms, tooled leather handbags and belts, vintage velvet, and peplum jackets. Gee, sounds exactly like Jaclyn's style now!
InsideQ: What's your signature accessory?
Susan: My signature accessory is my shoes! Oh, how I love my shoes! Shoes can make or break an outfit. After the shoe, the bag and jewelry are the finishing touches. I love a great bracelet, bold ring, and chunky necklace to pull my outfit together. This year scarves are gaining popularity as my new accessory must-have!
