InsideQ: What does your job entail?
Scott Grimes: As a jewelry stylist with John Hardy, I work with artisans to understand their inspirations. I then know how to present the JAI collections to leading fashion editors, Hollywood stylists, and JAI collectors around the world. Through working and traveling, I'm able to comprehend how the inspirations relate to the products, and I've gained a deep knowledge of the creative process. Working with leading fashion editors also gives me the opportunity to understand fashion tips and styling trends, helping me to better understand how to style our collectors.
InsideQ: Does John Hardy have any exclusive collections?
Scott: Yes, we have a one-of-a-kind jewelry collection called "Cinta." I travelled with this private collection and presented it to select, elite customers around the US for private viewings. Now, in my role as jewelry stylist for JAI John Hardy, I will offer this unique service…to all of our QVC collectors. I will travel the world, curate the new pieces for JAI, and work with the craftsman. Each season, I will be gathering the best designs with each of you in mind and will bring them...to QVC.
InsideQ: What is the most memorable trip you've ever taken?
Scott: That is a hard question to answer because I really do live two very different lifestyles with John Hardy. For example, one day I might be flying to London or the Middle East to present a one-of-a-kind design to a private client, experiencing the world of luxury as a stylist for royalty or for some of the most exclusive Hollywood stylists. The next day I may have to travel to a remote area of the world where I don't speak the language and take local transportation, which could be an ox cart. These destinations not only teach me life-lessons, but are also a day-to-day experience.
Every time I find a new jewelry piece, I think, "This is it. This is the most beautiful piece in the world!" only to arrive at another exotic destination to view an even more spectacular piece. These new findings get me so excited that I want to run and share them with all of my John Hardy collectors.
