David Venable joined QVC as a program host in 1993 and has helped grow the multimedia retailer's gourmet food business. His hit show, In the Kitchen with David®, offers a unique interactive viewership experience and features the latest in gourmet foods, cookware, kitchen gadgets, and cookbooks.
While not a chef, David, well-known to his dedicated fans as ''QVC's resident foodie,'' loves to cook and his passion revolves around all things food. He released his first-ever cookbook, In the Kitchen with David: Comfort Foods That Take You Homewhich contains 150 hearty, easy-to-make recipes designed with the home cook in mindin October 2012.
David's passion, coupled with his cookbook and extensive knowledge of the industry, has solidified his reputation as a sought-after host and TV personality. He also serves as a primary host for other QVC programming.
Prior to joining QVC, David was an anchor/reporter for WOAY-TV in Oak Hill, West Virginia and WTAJ-TV in Altoona, Pennsylvania, where he hosted its weekly public affairs talk show Action Newsmakers. He also hosted the Children's Miracle Network telethon for four years.
David earned his bachelor's degree in radio, television, and motion pictures from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, N.C.
