Isaac Mizrahi Live! Floral Guipure Lace A-Line Skirt
I ought this skirt in black to wear to a wedding. I bought the size eight based on the reviews but could have gone with a six or even a four but I am keeping the eight and can have it taken in (since there are no more in black). I wasn't quite sure what to wear with it on top and finally opted for the Bob Mackie botanical print sweater (A213095) in coral. It looks fabulous especially with the coral Sofft Ramona Peep Toe Pumps from last year. Isaac, I have a few of your items and love each and every one! Mahalo!
True to Size for me
I am a very solid 6, in every jean, skirt, pants, etc. A 4 VERY occasionally. I read reviews, ordered an 8 and it was a mistake! I should have gotten a 6. If you're a TRUE size in something than you should probably get that size. I am not going to return it as I can just take it in but despite reviews, if you're a very solid true size, I would go for that size.
The skirt itself is adorable. I'm just giving it 4 stars because of the fit--it's a bit wide on the sides, definitely NOT a pencil skirt fit, more an a-line. I'll probably have to wear a long shirt with it until I can get it tailored.
Just received this skirt and it is really nice. I did size up 1 size from the other reviews and it fits great. I am usually a size 4 and i got the 6. The skirt is made smaller than his other skirts.
I bought this skirt in both the cream and black. The fabric is fabulous and I know how expensive this fabric really is! After reading the reviews regarding sizing, and checking the stated measurements, I purchased the 10 and 12. I usually wear an 8 or 10. Interestingly, both the 10 and 12 fit me fine - one is a bit more fitted and the other a bit more forgiving so I'm keeping both. Absolutely stunning skirts!! An amazing deal at the clearance price!!
I usually do not think of a lace skirt being sporty but this one can be if you team it with a great blouse. I guess because it is cotton the skirt can be used for a number of occasions besides dressy. Go for it if you want to diversify your wardrobe..
video is accurate
This is a great skirt. As expected. I would order up a size, it fits a little snug in the waist and there is not room for movement/stretch.
The lace really is soft and beautiful. I have the cream. I was surprised to see that the lining is just cheap, but who cares, no one will see it. But you definitely need another slip with this.
I love the quality of this skirt and may consider getting it in the ivory. It fits a little snug but I think it's because it's like a pencil skirt. That's not a problem for me because all my pencil skirts fit me the same and love the way it shows off my curves. If you need to size up do so look at the measurement chart or call CS to find out how it' s proportioned. I have several of isaac's clothes, your the best. Love love love, very elegant.
Beautiful, But Definitely Size Up
I do love this skirt. It can be dressed up or worn as part of a chic casual look. The skirt is a modified pencil skirt, not a true "A Line" shape. It flares slightly at the hem, but the overall look is that of a straight skirt. The fabric is a very high end Guipure Lace which can sell for $80 to 120+ per yard (at 30 inches wide) in the fabric stores. I believe the sizing is "off" because it is based on "universal" and not US measurements. I am always a small (6-8) in QVC sizing for bottoms and the size 10 in this skirt fits me perfectly. I am cutting the tag out ;-))
beautiful beautiful beautiful
I bought the black in my regular size. I cant understand the negative reviews, The skirt is really pretty . I am 5ft 41/2 and the skirt is just below my knees. i wish it was a 1/2 inch longer .However thats me being a little picky!!
I was looking for a lace-type straight skirt, and after reading reviews, this sounded like the one to get. I usually wear a 6-8 and had a few post-Christmas pounds, so ordered the 8. I LOVED the skirt, the lace is substantial, the cut is perfect as a straight but not pencil-tight or flared A-line skirt, and I knew it would look great with either dressy or casual tops. But - it was way too small! I sent it back and thought I'd find something locally. Never did - so recently re-ordered it in a 10, and now it's a keeper. Might even get the cream, as I too saw that in Real Simple and loved it, would be great for spring. If the sizing had been better, would have not hesitated to give it 5 stars.
Sizing off but cute
I ordered this skirt in black. It's very cute and fits great...two sizes larger than my regualr size, thanks to previous reviews. So, be careful with the sizing but I think you will really like the skirt. It can be dressed up or worn casually with a t-shirt and denim jacket.
Super cute...but measure first!
Love this skirt. Originally saw it in Real Simple magazine and it's as cute and quality looking in person as in the picture. BUT...I wear a size 6 and had to order two sizes up to a 10. The 10 is a smidge big in the hips, but should be easy to tailor in. Bottom line is if you look at the size guide and compare it against your actual measurements then you should be OK. Trust me...don't be tempted to assume it runs true-to-size, because you will be disappointed. Oh! And it is most definitely an A line style...it is not a pencil skirt. Highly recommend...enjoy!!!
