Not my taste
I thought this would be better in person that it turned out to be. I wore it all day just to see if I just needed to warm up to it. I don't know... The pearls have ok color and luster - not great. I tend to like more weighty necklaces and this felt like plastic. So, maybe women who like very light necklaces would like this. I just don't. Plus, the minute I opened the box I noticed a scratch on the clasp. It probably would not be noticeable but I noticed it and my eye is automatically drawn towards it. Going back.

Great Price
I bought these at the Honora store in NYC last December. At least the picture looks just like the strand I bought...what a difference in the price! I paid either $625 or $650 for what look like the same pearls. I love them and have worn them with everything from formal dresses to jeans.

perfect color
I am very picky about the color of my black pearls, and these are perfect. I do not like blue or purple shades, these are a true deep gray/black. I already love the ringed pearls and mine have the perfect rings, not too deep. I have to admit the price is more than I am used to paying, but I know that I will never find a more perfect strand in size and color for this price, so I know I will have to keep them. I know I will wear them often, as I wear pearls almost every single day-I dress them up and down!

I received these today in the black strand. They came in 4 days (lightening speed shipping) and were beautifully packaged in a nice Honora box. Unfortunately, the largest pearl in the center was the most misshapen and too obvious. The other pearls were nicely ringed and shaped. There were no white spots on my strand. I ordered a black Honora Tahitian Pearl 18" neckace (J151152) a few weeks ago (for twice the price) and these were actually much nicer! I really want to keep these, but they would need to be restrung without the center pearl or sent back for exchange. Based on the negative reviews, I do not think an exchange is a good idea. The luster on my strand was pretty good. There were purple hues, but none of the greens, blues, etc. Grade: C+

I'm keeping this one!
I received my black pearl necklace yesterday and I am thrilled. I lost my single Tahitian pearl necklace on a black cord over a year ago and have been trying to replace it ever since. Going back to Tahiti would be costly. I finally found this. I must be lucky because mine is a substantial piece. The center pearl is only a tad larger than the rest. The rings are slight, just like I wanted. If they were too deep, I would have returned it. Mine is iridescent and uniform in size and shape. It looked purple in the box, but now I can see blues and greens as well. No white spots at all. The clasp is secure and simple to use.

THESE PEARLS ARE GORGEOUS!! I PURCHASEDTHEM IN BLACK AND THE COLOR AND LUSTER ARE PERFECT. I AM A HUGE FAN OF RINGED PEARLS AND THESE ARE EXQUISITE. I DON'T TEND TO WEAR PEARL AS OFTEN AS MY SILVER JEWELRY, HOWEVER I FIND MYSELF LOOKING FOR WAYS TO WEAR THEM AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE AND AM BECOMING ACCUSTOMED TO DRESSING THEM DOWN. PLEASE JOEL, BRING BACK IN THE SILVER AND CHOCOLATE!! MAYBE EVEN GOLD?? LADIES, IF YOU ARE A FAN OF LARGER PEARLS, DO NOT HESITATE!!

gorgeous black pearls
I just received these today in 18" black, they are gorgeous, weighty and the color is beautiful. Earlier today I looked at a southsea strand for $10,000 at Bloomingdales and the color on the honora ringed pearls is every bit as beautiful. Very happy.I will buy them in white also.

Nice...
I would call this a nice strand of pearls for the price. I also thought they were dull when I first received them but after I have had them for a few days they seem to be getting more luster to them. I did put them out and let them get room temperature. I also took a soft cloth and polished them. I compared them to other pearls I have that are this size and even though they don't look that large in the Honora case they arrived in, they are the same size. I think this is because the dark pearls blend in and don't stand out against the case like others. When I put them around my neck, they looked large when I looked in the mirror. I have no white spots or "missed" areas on mine. They are more of a dark gray though, not black. They have a lot of blue and green in them, also. Think I will save up and buy the longer size, also. BTW, I own many strands of pearls and I like these just as much as strands I paid more than twice the price. If you decide to buy them give them a chance before you return them. I think pearls need to be worn before you can judge them.

Beautiful pearls for the price!`
When I first opened these pearls I was disappointed at the dullness. I was so upset that I couldn't even look at them. I reopened them a month later and began to wear them around the house and was amazed that the luster in these black pearls became brighter. Even my husband thinks they are pretty. I have now owned them for several months and am happy that I kept them. They are now black and beautiful shiny pearls. I am a big pearl lover and critic. I am glad that I kept them. They are a great addition to my pearl collection. Thanks Honora for the great price!

White shows in grooves
I ordered 3 colors in both lengths for layering as I adore the large pearls and am particularly crazy about ringed pearls. The rings are very deep, but I love that. The problem is that whatever is used for coloration did not penetrate the grooves very well leaving white spaces peeking through. I am just heart sick about it because I really wanted to love these strands. I don't expect pearls to be perfect since they are a product of nature, and Honora does an excellent job matching shapes and sizes for strands. However, I've never had a strand in which you could see the white showing through. Sadly, all will go back.

Disappointed!!
When I received these pearls I was shocked at the poor quality. They were absolutely
flat, no luster at all. I have other Honora Pearls from Qvc & they are lovely so I did not
hesitate to order these. I was going to send them back & request another but before
doing so I read the other reviews & changed my mind.

Stunning Pearls
These pearls are stunning - high quality, high lustre - and come beautifully packaged. I have purchased two strands, one black and one silver and both are a great value for the money. The black ones are a Christmas gift for my mother. I have been wearing the silver ones for several weeks, and receive compliments each time I wear them. These pearls also stand-out for the unique ringed design which makes them unusual and not something you will see other people wearing. These are a very nice size and stand on their own, or look terrific paired in this season's style mixed with other pearls, and/or sterling silver for a bochic look. I could not be more pleased, and could definitely not buy this quality in any of the top notch local jewelry stores for this price. I recommend this purchase highly, and can tell you these pearls are better than the ones I selected personally in the pearl market in Beijing. You will not be disappointed.
