I have an island finally!!!!!!!
Received the item in two boxes. The marble top comes crated in a separate box from the base and it is very well packaged in wood. This box was so heavy that I could not even move it, let alone get it up the back stairs where UPS left it. I built the base very easily and being an older female, isn't always easy for me to build things by myself. I had to wait for two strong men in my family to come over, uncrate the top and when it was all bolted together (which was easy too) and set it on its legs. It is an extremely nice piece and it looks great in my small kitchen. I was going to put it against the wall, but it is a perfect size for my kitchen to use as a real island!!!!!!! I love to bake, have limited counter space to do so - this is going to be perfect for the holidays. I am going to look for a shelf material or maybe a sheet of plexiglass to lay on the bottom shelf, just my personal preference, but if I don't find what I'm looking for, the original look will not be a hardship. Marble "veneer" top is gorgeous. So happy with this product!
