Home Styles Monarch Kitchen Island w/Granite Insert Top is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT QUALITY! I order so much from QVC and never give reviews but this piece is just too beautiful not to. The finish is in a dark stained oak family not so light as depicted in the pics. Other than that the quality is amazing! Very solid. I was sold with the extra storage space it allows and people are always gathering around my island inquiring about it. I am just happy I was able to buy this instead of building a custom$$$$$ piece. Thanks QVC!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice but top is not as pictured. The top on this is a very very dark oak finish. It appears medium or "cottage" in the pictures, but it is more like the mediterranean dark oak of the 1970's. Takes several hours to assemble- almost impossible for 1 person alone, unless they are very agile & very strong. Cam lock assembly- you get 1 side done, the other comes apart. Some bolts need to go in from the bottom of unit, and the top is very heavy- both need 2 people. When trying to get the 4 sides together, the base trim started to come apart. It comes in 3 very heavy boxes, which the trucker will not carry upstairs. Mine came on different days, so I assembled the base & then saw that the top was much darker than I wanted. When all assembled, it looks nice, except for the very dark "distressed" finish, which looks more like snow chains driven over it than to give it a "grain" - again, unlike the photo. I emailed HomeStyles about this- they basically said "sorry but no can fix". However, it is cheaper than a custom island.
