Worked for a while and then died!
Purchased many of these to light our walkway. Although they looked like they were sturdy they proved not to be. The timers and switches went on 3/4 of them after just a couple of months. Certainly a disappointment. If there was a way to get into the sealed unit they could probably be fixed.

Short Lived
This is a beautiful lantern and just what I was looking for. This did not last very long. I also had problems with the timer and now the lantern is not working at all. The black faded terribly but I thought I could touch it up with paint, but with the candle not working why bother. Also would be nice if you could unscrew the base and insert another flameless candle but there are 3 funky looking screws so they don't want you to be able to replace the candle or the bulb. I am starting to doubt these flameless candles because they are short lived.

not good outdoors...
the latern is beautiful....however.....i bought 7 of these in april 2011. used them to line the walkway and around my yard. other reviewers are correct. in the course of the year the color faded (purple)which was ok. but the metal does corrode and actually will start flaking off. three of them no longer work at all. it is very pretty, but maybe can only be used outside if protected completely from the elements. or indoors....this one may be more durable if they used plastic parts and completely sealed the latern. i would recommend only if you can protect from the elements or it will probably have problems about a year after purchase.

Love this lantern
I love the shade of green and the Old World style of this lantern. I've hung it in an east window where it catches the morning sun--gorgeous! At night it is a soft nightlight that casts just the right amount of light. I've received many compliments plus questions about where I found such a beautiful "old" lantern....

Back for more...
I've had a pair of these lanterns, in clear glass, for quite some time. The batteries last for several months at a time, and the timer is accurate and daily...as promised. I'm not crazy about the shade of green, but the price made it impossible not to get another pair for the guestroom. Ours are all in indoor use, but I may put the green ones outside, on the porch, to announce the location of our annual Christmas party this year. Thanks for a very good product.

Disintegrated within Six Months ***Buyer Beware***
Purchased 6 of these lanterns to line my front walkway some time ago. They looked very pretty for a VERY short time. Within weeks the lights went out. New batteries lasted a couple of weeks then that function worked only intermittently or not at all. What surprised me most was how the metal of the lantern totally corroded. They all ended up in the trash. Why sell these as an Inside/OUTSIDE lantern if they are going to disintegrate with 6 months? I've had problems with other purchases from this company. If you are looking for true beauty, value and longevity from a flameless candle, stick with the best..........Candle Impressions.

Stopped working
This item stopped forking in less than a year. I would give it 0 stars but that choice not available. A total waste of money.

Got the purple and LOVE IT !!!
We hung this lantern on our victorian porch and the color blended in perfectly with the one of the 5 colors on our house and it looks and works great. We have had many compliments on it and even a few people have said to us, why do you leave a candle in the lantern unatended ?? We have to tell them its a fake and they cant believe it. Thanks for a great little touch that makes a great statement.

Absolutely Beautiful
I originally purchased 3 of these at the clearance price, hoping that I could use them outside my victorian home. Green was not the color I would have picked, but when they arrived, and I placed them in my landscaping I loved them! At night, they are so peaceful to look at. They have added soooooo much to my exterior. I have since gone back and purchased two more for myself, and 3 more for my mother's birthday. I am addicted! I did take the advice of some of the other customers and sprayed the lanterns with a sealer. I live in Florida, the Sunshine State.....or Scorching State...depending on the day, so there is a ton of sun beating down on them. I have noticed the glass faded a bit, but that is not a problem....a little more neutral now. Buy them.....you will love them!!!!!

Great Lantern
These are terrific. I bought 4 or 5 of them. I have them on my porch and gave them as gifts. I don't use the hook. They last forever and look so pretty at night. I went back to purchase more in the clear (my favorite) and see they are discontinued. I am so sad and hope they either bring them back or something very similar.

Hesitate to recommend
I got the red which when its not on looks red, when on its completely muted orange. Its also not very bright & after time doesnt always turn on when supposed to. Batteries also seem to drain more quickly with this one. For fall months, its nice to have but again, the lighting is quite dim. It also oddly changed colored. I dont want to say tarnished but when i 1st wiped it to clean it with only water, the outside became burnished (?) looking, if that makes sense. Havent tried it outside yet since i got such a change from only tap water so im hesitant to expose it to the elements. Maybe the clear would have been more bright & maybe its one of those that gets good luck with some & some not so much.

Very Happy with Purchase
One of the better purchases I've made with QVC. I am surprised by how well made, and nice looking these are. I purchased 4 in the clear and should have ordered 8 as they are no longer available in clear. Please dont discontinue. Would love more in the clear glass. I have them outside placed along the step area around my deck to light the way at night, and they are just the right amount of light and look pretty realistic as far as a candlelight glow.
More please in the clear glass....would definitely purchase more if available.
Thanks, for brightening up our yard this summer. may even pack along when we go camping as a "just in casex" method of lighting
