i'm happyi just received this today from fedex in 2 boxes. i'm glad someone was home because otherwise they would've been left outside. it would've been nice to get a phone call. but anyway- i'm a 25 yr old female and I put this bed together by myself-it was pretty simple. I even carried it piece by piece into my bedroom. the pieces aren't very heavy. it basically comes in 6 pieces. the back pieces can be a little tricky to put together by yourself but definitely do-able. kind of a balancing act for me. and the -what do you call it.. floor boards? (what the mattress sits on) were about 15 long boards that you lay on one end and roll out (they were attached together by ropes.) this was probably the hardest part for me because for one the bundle was a little heavy to just pick up as one pile, and two, the instructions said to screw wood screws into the boards -well the boards had holes to put them into but the bed frame didn't. so i assumed i had to make those myself. took a little effort but do-able. sure hope that's what i was supposed to do! so i put it all together and i guess I wouldn't call it the sturdiest piece of furniture, but i'm not worried about it falling apart either. it is solid wood. the paint job is nice but i did find one area about an inch long where it looked like the wood was split a little- just on the surface and on the back so no one will see it. I didn't get the trundle so i have about 13" high of storage space underneath-which i'm really happy about. i down-sized from a queen and am happy to have all the extra space now! i'm sure i'll keep this for a long time and move it into a guest room someday.
