HealthMaster Elite Fruit & Vegetable Emulsifier by Montel Williams
STOP! Don't Purchase -Poor Design-
Bearing failed due to a "water seal" failure, it made an awful mess. Poor, poor design and the replacement pitcher will cost $70.00 plus shipping, not to mention damage caused to the base unit. Company does NOT stand by their product. Should have spent a little more and purchased a Vitamix or Ninja. NOT HAPPY now I'm stuck with an expensive mistake.
NOT WORTH IT !!!!
I purchased this believing it would be a quality product if Montel Williams is endorsing it. Not the case, within one month the motor was leaking black liquid and the motor would work on and off. Not reliable at all. Since it started doing this one month into the purchase I could not return it and was stuck. I came back to QVC and purchased the Vitamix which I am super happy with and have not had any problems with. The Vitamix has a five year guarantee and its made in the USA. Save your pennies and buy the Vitamix, you will not regret it.
Piece of Junk with Bonus Poor Customer Service
I made the unfortunate decision to purchase this piece of junk a couple of years ago. The first one I received was defective and was replaced. After being disappointed with the first 2 or 3 recipes from the book, I put it in the cabinet. I recently decided to give it another try. One of the tabs that locks the lid in place is missing. Other than the 2 or 3 times I actually used it, the only place the unit has been is in the top rack of the dishwasher twice and in the cabinet. I phoned customer no-service this morning after discovering that there is no email option by which to contact them. I spoke with someone with a very heavy foreign accent that I could barely understand. I was finally able to learn that the lids are out of stock and will be for at least 6 weeks. Replacement lids are $14.99 plus S&H. This agent also told me that I should have contacted QVC because they don't recommend any purchases from third parties such as QVC, eBay and pawn shops. I asked him if he thought Montel Williams would agree with that since he actually does spend time on air at QVC advertising his products. He repeated that they do not recommend purchases from third parties such as QVC, eBay and pawn shops. [I thought it was interesting that he grouped QVC with eBay and pawn shops.] As there is no email option to contact customer no-service, it would appear that there is no way to help them improve this aspect of their business. QVC has been made aware. They advised that that their only suggestion would have been to contact customer no-service at Montel's company. I wish these the reviews that have been posted since my purchase had been available before my purchase.
Don't buy it!!
I purchased a health master a couple of years ago. I wish I had my money back. The seal on the bowl started leaking about a month after I bought it. Guess what, Montel charged me for a new bowl, they wouldn't stand behind their product. Now it's hard to turn on and it's very loud. Don't waist your money on this machine.
very good till it breaks
This machine worked really well for several months on a daily basis. I used it to make a fruit-veggie smoothie - nothing extremely difficult. Then without warning, the bearing assembly in the pitcher came apart. Without that the "blender" doesn't work at all. The pitcher would be very expensive to replace so I think I'll save up for a Vita-mix.
Going to save for a Vitamix...
My mother in law gave me this blender after she decided it was too big for her counter. I've tried using it a few times but I constantly have to hit the reset button on the bottom to keep it going. Fine for basic liquids but it shuts off when crushing ice, carrots, onions - anything that has resistance. My old fashioned blender seems to have more power... Oh well - it goes in the next garage sale and I'll save towards a Vitamix...
This machine was rather large so unfortunately spent more time under my countertop.
I used this once and once only. Brought it out to use a second time and the machine wont turn on. Reading reviews leads me to believe asking for a replacement is fruitless and too costly. I really didn't want to choose 1 start, none is more appropriate, but the site requires a rating from 1 to 5 stars. 0 stars is more accurate :((
Wears out after a couple months use. Then the company charges out landish shipping and handling for replacements that don't work either. I have spent almost as much as a new one on shipping and handling and still do not have an operating machine despite the lifetime warranty.
Never had a problem
I have had my Healthmaster for 3 years now. Granted the first year and a half it sat on my counter. A big bulky looking thing that takes up a lot of space. I used it once to make broccoli soup that didn't turn out so well. Then it sat...
About a year and a half ago I had surgery and decided to make healthier choices in my eating habits. I have been making myself a fruit and vegetable smoothie every morning. I use fresh fruits and vegetables, greek yogurt and a bit of soy milk to make it all blend well. I have never had a problem with the machine leaking oil or anything else. It IS loud, but that's because it is a beast! This machine makes EXCELLENT daiquiris and margaritas!!! The ice is slushy consistency. Absolutely perfect.
All these negative reviews and I just don't know what they are doing wrong. I love this machine. I take good care of it and it has been wonderful. Big, but wonderful.
Twice is NOT a Charm
The first time I used the machine to make 'RED Chile" from freshly cooked pods, was awesome..I was bragging about the machine, made a few smoothies to drink while making my Tamales.....two months later attempted to use it for the same (chile) wouldn't turn on..only Twice i used this machine!!! Because it was so much later, couldn't return. Do NOT purchase this machine..Still trying to see if I could trade it or get my $$ back. So disappointed :(
I purchased this item on a dare from Montel Williams...to give me 6 wks and you will lose weight. Every morning and evening I made a fruit smoothie and ate a large salad for lunch and walked about 30 minutes 3 times a week. At the end 6 wks I lost 24 lbs. I was so excited I decided to continue the dare and about the 8th week my HealthMaster got louder and started leaking what look like oil and liquids. I was so devasted because I trusted this product. Cannot afford to buy a VitaMix and reluctant to purchase a department store blender. I cannot in good conscious recommend this item to anyone. Sad because we cannot believe what we see on TV.
Leaked oil, burning smell
I wrote a review on this before and it did not get posted, so I'll try to tone this one down some. Do not waste your money on this. The oil leaks and burning smell started after only a few uses but since it was past 30 days there was not much cooperation dealing with it. Read the reviews not only here in QVC land, but on other public sites and you will find this is a very common problem with the device. Great idea, but bad quality, for years now. The Healthmaster customer service is willing to sell you a new pitcher for $70. Yeah right. I have to agree with a previous review and wonder why do they still sell this device on QVC?
