HP 17" Touch Gold Luxe Laptop AMD A10, 8GB & Support, MS Office 365 is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from HP Luxe Laptop I bought this laptop close to 2 years ago, when it was first advertised on QVC. I was just reading the reviews, and am surprised at the negative ones. Are they not making them as well as they were when I bought mine? One complaint was about pop-ups warning against using Chrome vs. Edge. Those notices come from MS, not HP. Microsoft has had THOUSANDS of problems with the Windows 10 upgrades within the past months. My computer had a really hard time loading the huge update, and at one time my tech told me my hard drive was fried! Well, turns out that MS keeps trying to upgrade the computer, and it eventually (2 weeks later) came back good as new. Very frustrating, but not a game changer as far as HP. I've used this computer daily for nearly 2 years; gone through BAD MS upgrades, Windows 10 (HORRIBLE); and I'm still in love with this computer. All in all, in the end, it performs with ease. The 17" is what it is. Large laptop. Great for sitting back in a chair with it in your lap. I've dropped it, and it's protected and fixed itself. Amazing. I think the negative reviews come from folks who are having problems with MS Windows 10 issues, not the computer itself. I love the touch screen, soft touch keys, awesome graphic quality, quick response and so many features I can't list them all, just what I use daily. Very Long battery life. No wi-fi connection problems, or download issues. Connected with a Canon printer easily. Still has a disc player, which is becoming a hard to find feature, and it only opens when prompted. As for virus protection, of course you've got to get it immediately, before you even begin. Install McAfee and MalWareBytes and you're covered. Try to buy the HP with lifetime support. Those guys will connect with your computer and save you 100's of dollars in tech visits. They do on-line what a shop will charge you big time for. HUGE benefit. The reason I was reading reviews is because I'm thinking of buying another of these to give as a present. I would recommend it to everyone; just understand Chrome vs. Edge issues are a MS issue, not the HP computer itself.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst ever! I have had hundreds of computers and many a laptop. I needed a newer one to replace my existing laptop. I thought this HP 17" Touch Gold Luxe Laptop AMD A10 would be the perfect replacement. Boy was I ever wrong! This is the bulkiest, most uncomfortable laptop I've ever used. But it doesn't end there. The keys stick, the mouse freezes, when you extend the screen it freezes too. The CD drive opens by itself. It's difficult to calibrate the color and display. Poor quality graphics. It doesn't charge well. You have to click the keypad/mouse various times in order for it to respond. The copy and paste command doesn't always work when you try to copy. It slows my pace down as opposed to making me more productive. When you rest your arms on it as you type, the hardware scratches and cuts into your skin. You may not notice all of these deficiencies if you're a casual user, however, if you use it daily for work or school, you will be very frustrated! If you're looking for a reliable system for work or school, this isn't it! I highly recommend you look elsewhere.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sounded like a great purchase The package and price was a good one and I needed a new lap top so I thought this one would be ideal because I needed a PC. The details they bury in the description is how unbelievably heavy this laptop is. It's loaded with Edge which doesn't allow PDF fill in online. When you add google chrome it pops up a message every time about how less defended and slower google chrome is. Then there's the wifi issue, I have to restart my computer at least twice a day to stay connected to wifi. If I don't restart, it will drop my connection. I never had these types of issues with my MacBook.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No anti virus!!!! Little did I know that this computer had no antivirus program when I began using it. There's a McAfee icon on the desktop, right? Within 2 hours of the very first time I got on the internet, I got an onscreen and audio message warning me that I had serious viruses on the computer and to call this number. Turns out it was a Microsoft tech support number, and they determined I had several dangerous viruses and was being hacked by at least 6 users, etc. So the first day I use the computer, I spent over $400 to clean the computer and install an antivirus program. Turns out the McAfee "program" was totally useless. It was a trial version, but even more ridiculous, it wasn't even compatible with Windows 10! I'm really bummed out having to spend all this extra money the first time I use it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful, fast, HUGE computer! I've gone through my share of laptops. HP's, DELL, MAC .... And I have to say this is a great computer. It's large size makes it interesting actually ON your lap ... but it's manageable. I wouldn't say this is a complaint ... just beware, it's a LARGE computer. If you aren't familiar with a 17'' computer, go to a store and see one on display. My previous Dell was 17'', so I knew what I was getting into. The sleek keyboard has the soft touch keys, which I'm a huge fan of. The extra side numbers is also a bonus. This computer is user friendly, as I wasn't sure about Windows 10, as I've had Windows 7 and Windows 8 -- two TOTALLY different operating systems. Well Windows 10 combines both of them. You have the desktop with icons, but also when clicking the START menu, the app screen pops up. So you get the best of both worlds, making it very user friendly. The only down side is that it doesn't come with an antivirus. My Dell came with an antivirus with a lifetime subscription to it. So I just transferred it to this computer, but before surfing the internet please put an antivirus on your computer. I wasn't a fan of the new "UPDATED" Internet Explorer, so I used that browser to download Chrome. Something a little more user friendly. I haven't really found myself using the touch screen, but it's great when going through my email and swiping the screen once to delete any junk mail. This computer is definitely a beauty! I'm a huge fan of it and look forward to using it for my photography company. The free photo software that came with it (free for a year) is actually a great website for basic photography editing. Easy to use. Not as complicated as an Adobe Photoshop, so you won't have much of an issue basic edits on photos. Really a great computer. Battery doesn't last as long as I would like, but with it powering such a huge operating system and screen ... it lasts long enough. Great buy! Great computer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it I can't believe this product has low reviews. I got my computer a week ago and it works great. I had no problem with it at all. The screen is beautiful and so are the gold keys. It starts up fast.Surfing the web is a breeze. I'm thinking about getting my mother in law one. She was impressed with it as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast shipping I received my laptop a day early as I called and asked if I could have my package put in a specific place as I knew I would not be home on the expected delivery date, I was thrilled to see the UPS truck pull up to my house a day early. It is taking some getting used to but I am loving my new toy
