Would not be a bad scanner if it wasn't for the cord . Scanning items the cord kept getting in the way
Rated 1 out of 5 by VERANA GOOD IDEA - BAD EXECUTION
HAD TO RETURN IT. SCANNING IS NOT AS EASY AS SHOWN ON TV. THIS WAS NOT AS PRACTICAL FOR ME. I WILL STICK WITH THE PORTABLE SCANNER I HAVE NOW.

The scanner part works good and you can quickly capture items, however, the color on some items may not be as good. We played with the settings and got it as good as we good and some of our photos have a yellowing in the color. This may be because we are scanning older photos (garbage in garbage out).
If we put something under the plastic it was worse so do not do that.
It is a nice to have and certainly handy to capture documents, pictures, etc. quickly and anywhere but if you expect or need perfection you might stick with a large scanner.

I was very excited when I saw this demonstrated on QVC! I thought it was a new technology! I found out it wasn't exactly new but. I read the reviews, after I had made my purchase, and was a little nervous. There were several very bad or questionable reviews but then there were also excellent reviews. I received this last week but tonight was the first time I had a chance to sit down and install it. I am going to use my regular mouse for mouse work and only use the scanner mouse when I scan. So as not to inadvertently mess up the scanning screen. I tried to save the little protector but it seems to have been lost on my desk. So I will just make sure to keep it clean and safe when I am not using it. I have scanned three test photos this evening. It did work as advertised but you do have to make sure your hand is steady and even. I will have to check to see if there is a way to manually set the DPI. The pictures I scanned were very clear and bright but the scan wasn't quite. They were good, but not the same quality. I will continue to make tests and will update this if I find any issues. So far so good!

I'm very disappointed in this product. It is much harder to use than demonstrated on air. The directions to download have not been updated to match the actual website, and so it's not out of the box ready.
I've learned it works better on smaller items that you can revise the size, however I was hoping to use it on 8 1/2 X 11 documents for work - does not provide even satisfactory scans when document is that large.
Kept it for small items like receipts, etc. but not as useful as I had hoped

Bought this last week and tried to use and it isn't easy to use .
Also went to Amazon and same product was $ 29.99 am shocked QVC
would be that much higher in price. The halo was 2 easy pay and I pay would have paid for product .Also the pad is only a paper folder and you don't even need it to scan.
I love QVC but this product was just wrong from price to performance.

If there was a way to give zero stars, I will. When you try to scan a photo, it causes the picture to become very distorted. I did a picture and after many attempts, I made a picture passable, instead of something that should be in a Picaso's art gallery. Even the passable picture, the mouse scanner makes the picture very grainy. I am sending this back. Halo should work out kinks out of this product. Very, very disappointing.

I bought this in 2013 and occasionally use it, but very hard to get photos correct. Even when I am holding mouse straight as I go across photo, the square scanning the photo starts to turn and the image gets distorted. It is extremely hard to do a larger photo, have to go over it numerous times to get an image that is just passable. This would be a great idea if it worked. Don't understand why fellow that presents it doesn't talk about the fact that it starts to turn and you have to start over.....is there some trick that he is not sharing? Wouldn't purchase again, nor recommend to anyone I know.

I bought this for my mom as a Christmas present back in 2003. I noticed she never really used it and was kind of bummed. Well, I just asked to borrow it to help scan some family photos and I spent 30 minutes and couldn't even get through one. It doesn't track what it's already scanned so it morphs the pics, changes the angle as you move. It just doesn't work. Soooo painfully disappointed. What a waste of money.
