HALO Photo/Document Scanner Mouse w/Pad & Easy Share Software
Best Scanner Ever
I cannot believe all of the negative reviews on this product. I have tried so many different scanners and this is the easiest I have ever used. It scans text or can scan images and you just choose which you want before you paste it into your document. I do a lot of writing and it is such a time saver. I have also done photos and it works great on that. The bad reviews must be due to operator error, because this scanner is simple and works great! You need to grab it while it is on sale! I don't even use the other scanners I have anymore.
I have spent a year working with this device trying to give it the benefit of the doubt. It simply doesnt do what it is advertised to do.
Use only for Scanning
I have had a previous Halo scanner mouse for more than a year and I used it both for scanning and as a mouse. Big mistake! The screen underneath the mouse can become scratched. that affects the quality of the scan and makes getting the scanner to work more difficult. Otherwise, this works great for scanning bits and pieces from vacation trips like brochures, tickets, postcards. Love it for that and purchased this new Halo mouse scanner to insure quality scanning. Love it! Would only suggest that program be improved for better editing possibilities.
WIsh there were ZERO stars
I purchased the halo mouse scanner as a gift for my husband. He was out of town, came home and he forgot to open it until recently. It is not as easy to scan as it showed on air. Does not scan fully, and it very frustrating to use. I would have returned it ,but it is long beyond time. One of my worst QVC purchases in 20 years of shopping with them. I do not recommend this product.
I installed the CD as instructed. Couldn't get it to work after installation. Called HALO customer service. Very disappointed with their help. Boxed it up and returned it.
I love this "mouse scanner". It is so easy to use once you download the software. I bought this last year for Christmas, and have used it multiple times. We scanned several dozen photos and other memorabilia (concert ticket stubs, bulletins, etc) to use in a 50th Birthday celebration powerpoint and table display this summer.
Then last week I scanned a series of personal letters that my folks had received 40 years ago and the family wanted to each have a copy. I scanned and converted them to a pdf file and emailed them to my siblings.
With one scan you have the option to convert it to several file types. pdf, .docx, txt, png, jpeg, and a couple of more that I can't think of right now.
Not as easy as it looks
This product looked so easy to use on air, but I found the mouse to be too big and cumbersome. I tried several times to scan pictures, but found it too difficult to use. It's easier to use a printer with a scan feature. I was disappointed in this product.
I bought this scanner last year, I just love it, I am soooo happy with it..Have scanned several pictures with noooo problems....Think i will order a second one ..It does a better job than any scanner i have used..Love,love, love it.
not easy to use
bought this thinking I could really scan some pics and it turned out to be hard to use and haven't used it since buying..........
brings history, current
love this, it allowed me to scan old photos and download to my pc to keep or to share.
Invest your money elsewhere
This mouse is a horrible purchase. I would suggest that anyone wanting quality scans, invest in a good printer that has a scanner, or some other company that offer the wide scanner that you can feed through the item to be scanned.
Not as advertised
I found the mouse very difficult to handle - the larger the photo the more distortions you can get. Works OK but not great with very small old pictures only which is the only reason I decided to keep it. This is a very wonderful idea - because it can be used for old pictures glued to albums, but it takes numerous tries to get them correct. The larger the picture the more difficult - watched QVC many times - when received watched the Video on Line - more than once - also received a tutorial on it - still find it difficult - Excellent idea for someone with limited deskspace - I use it on my kitchen table so good an idea - needs perfecting- should have returned but had death in family so I was able to share a small photo of deceased from 1987 - that is why I kept it.
