We looked so forward to trying these after the on air presentation. The bake time for frozen cakes was totally off. The packaging stated 400 degrees for 45 minutes. I baked them for 38 minutes and the crab dried out. My oven is calibrated correctly. The other problem was the saltiness of the crab cake. It was overwhelming. Lastly, should a premium product really be made with margarine??? Hydrogenated oils??? Very surprised that the ingredients were not top of the line.

Thank you QVC and Great Gourmet for a delicious product. I have purchased these crab cakes twice and will continue to reorder them because they are really filled with crab meat, not overly seasoned with salt or other spices, but are indeed the best crab cakes ever.
I purchased the Coconut Crab Cakes and will reorder time and time again.
QVC Customers, you must try this one!
Rated 1 out of 5 by anonymous725 Very Disappointing
I purchased these 2 years ago & they were fantastic. Wish I could say the same this time around. Ordered 16 once again & I've bitten into several chunks of shell. There are far more fillers than crab chunks. Very disappointed & will not be buying these again.

Yes, most of the crab was shredded, some crab lump, but there was a lot of crab and very little filling. I'm fixing to order again.

Do not know what people are whining about. I fear they are cooking them wrong. I turn my little toaster oven on 400 and a few minutes later place these babies in for exactly 23 min. The whole house smells like a crab house. everyone I have made these for says how big they are and they will never finish...BUT no one leaves even 1 bite on the plate . Just ordered original again.

In the presentation they represent that the crab cakes have chunks of crab - not so. The crab cakes consist of shreds of crab, no lumps. While tasty enough, not exceptional, they do need a little sauce or something. For the price I would like crab cakes that look like the ones presented.
Rated 1 out of 5 by lowcountry Not what expected
After hearing the rave reviews on air I thought I would order. Not at all what I expected. Very dry and the "large" lumps of crab meat were pretty much absent. I know crab cakes, from living on the Eastern shore and Va. I will not order these again.

I received two bags of four crab cakes. I would have preferred that come individually sealed (like the Lobster Crab Cakes I referenced below) as I don't have a Seal a Meal. Anyway, the directions said to cook on 400 for 20 minutes. This surprised me as these are HUGE, softball-sized cakes not as flat/small as the lobster crab cakes which you cook for 28 minutes. At the end of 20 minutes I tried to break into them and hit a frozen block in the center. The outside was plenty cooked and on the verge of burning, so I just put the frozen part back in for another 8 minutes to finish. The next day I tried lowering the temp and extending the time and 375 for 37 minutes worked. There was a TON of crab and very little filler in the two cakes I have made.
