George Simonton Ponte Knit Pull-on Skirt
I have been teaching first grade for 44 years and have three of these lovely skirts-just wore one today because the weather in South Florida was very cool when I left for work this morning.I always wear these skirts with a jacket and not only do the teachers say I look elegant but the children always tell me how pretty I look, especially when i am walking and they see the skirt flowing. I may order the gray too when we have another easy pay day. I wear an XXS and it fits perfectly. If your size is available, order any of these skirts or all of them, now....... you will be so happy you did! Not only are they elegant but they are warm and cozy too. Thank you George-you make me feel beautiful.
Can't go wrong with George's skirts!!
Bought this skirt specifically to go with George's paillette top below; that top in blue goes beautifully with this skirt in heather denim. The skirt fits perfectly, glides over your hips with no cling, and the inserts at the bottom make it so flirty and feminine. I have several of his maxi skirts that I absolutely love, and this skirt is a winner also. Thank you, George, for knowing how to make women look and feel beautiful!!
GREAT MIDI SKIRT FOR MODERATELY TALL GALS
Who loves their knees? Younger gals thighs are pretty but their knees rarely are. Anyhow this skirt solves the problem of needing a garment you can actually SIT on protecting you from cold or scratchy chairs and unwanted stares. This length is appreciated, but could be 3" shorter to accommodate more people and on me would end halfway down my calf (a flattering length, I think). This Medium size is 31-1/2" including the waistband. I don't really like true midi length skirts, they are rather dowdy - I just want to cover me knees. George, please bring this skirt back or a similar one with either six or eight gores with or without the godets. You could have a simpler version with on-seam pockets and no godets. I'll bet a lot of ladies would appreciate pockets. As for sizing of this skirt. Many have written that it is a bit small, I think it is true to size. Love the medium-weight ponte knit fabric.
I love this skirt! It is nice and warm, good quality fabric too! It flows nicely and looks great with my boots! I always get great compliments when wearing this skirt! I actually am back to get it in Camel. Disappointed that I missed out on the Charcoal. I also wish it came in Dark Brown! Just love it!!!
Wonderful silhouette, pretty dusty blue, great fit! Please get it back in all colors! I really want the plum and charcoal grey!
Love this skirt
I bought this skirt in black and the fit and material are very nice. The fit and style are slimming and the material feels good to the body. I did order the XL on this as one reviewer said it ran small. It fits just right. I wear a L in the crystal knit pants, but on tab front ponte knit pants I wear an XL. I love George Simonton's timeless designs and the quality of fabric and design. I carry my weight in my tummy but not in my backside.I am 5'3 1/2" tall. I would also like to request petites in skirts as well as pants. In tops, I can not wear petites but regular, but with Simonton tops, they're structured with the armholes sewn closer in which gives a beautiful look in tops. I love George Simonton clothes. I am hard to fit, but with higher quality fabric and design, George has the science down as the professional he is.I love the weight of this fabric as it falls and moves beautifully. Washes easily. However,I wash my clothes on the handwash cycle, cold water,Woolite, and hang to dry. I touch up with an iron if I need to.I do not throw my nice clothes in and out of the washer and dryer without special consideration, if that helps.Simonton clothes are expensive, yet inexpensive when compared to equally made clothing in the fine department stores. They are classics and good investments and reliable when reliability is hard to find. I am a George Simonton fan and try to watch for him when he is on. Thank you George.Keep it up.
I own this skirt in both the black and the camel and have never worn either without someone coming up to complement me on the style. The fabric is wonderful. Heavy enough for fall through spring wear but not stiff. Length is great on me too. (I'm 5' 8" and it hits me mid calf) However it's the cut and design of the skirt I like the best. The gores and godets flow beautifully around the legs. All in all, I think this skirt looks a lot more expensive than it is. Would like it in forest green.
Did not care for the fabric. However, it seemed well made. Runs small
Hangs just right and not too long
Looks great with boots or cute shoes and tights. I even wore mine during the summer with strappy sandals. I'm 5'6", and it hits me below the knee but upper shin like the photo. The seams are slenderizing. The weight of the material makes it hang just right, even on hippy girls, no added butt bulk. I now have 3 colors. We need a dark green and a chocolate at least.
Love this skirt!
The fit is just right and the fabric is scrumptious. I'll definitely be back to order another color. This will be my go-to skirt this fall and winter. Thanks George!!
Ordered my usual size. Love the fit. Quality is superb. None of that thin or stretchy fabric here!!! I got the color aubergine & it's lovely and deeply saturated, a great neutral. And for me living in Texas this will make a great fall & winter skirt. Fabric weight is not too heavy, not too thin, just right. You would be hard pressed to find a skirt to fit like this and have such good fabric quality elsewhere for the price!!! I think Mr. Simonton truly is one of the best designers for women for all the qualities we love; style, fit, quality, and price. Thank you Mr. Simonton for making lovely clothing for real ladies.
Twirl worthy ~
What a beautiful skirt! The quality and craftsmanship will show when you wear this gorgeous skirt. I can twist and twirl with the best of them. Perfect fabric weight, not heavy or stiff but substantial. I will order in more colors!.
